We managed to get our hands on a new MRE product. It is for the 2024 US MREs. Italian Herb and Cheese Swirl. They are pretty good alone and fantastic with Jalapeno cheese spread on them.

I managed to get in some Cran-Raspberry First Strike Bars. They were made Jan 10th 2023. The price is a higher than the others so I only bought 10 cases to see if they will sell. If they don't I won't be buying more. I also got mini Mocha FSBs.

The loss of my wife has come with new information. My wife I have a special needs daughter. She has a rare disease called Leighs Syndrome. To determine my daughter diagnosis TGEN a non-profit research center in Phoenix took samples of all of our DNA to map to see what mutations that Danae and I may share that caused Darien's problem. As odd as it may seem when my wife passed away someone decided to look over all of our genome again.

They discovered that I had two very special people in my life with a rare disease. My wife had what is known as vEDs Vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (vEDS) This too is a rare disease that does have some tell, tell signs. One of the most common is easy bruising and rupturing blood vessels. Danae complained about this for years. For the life of me I don't know why we didn't pursue and explanation.

Another possible sign is facial features, but it is not always present. My wife did present these facial features and bruising but considering this diseases rarity it never occurred to anyone to look for VEDS. Those signs or large eyes, thin nose, small ear lobes and a less pronounced chin. My wife had all of these.

Consider this a public service message because the earlier you catch these things the better chance you have of dealing with them. Also, it is autosomal dominant meaning kids have a 50/50 chance of catching it. My daughter is being tested. Prayer for her to overcome it if she does.
