Meet Ryan - the force behind our incredibly successful dahlia crop this year. Ryan and I (Kim) grew up in Bucks County and met each other first in middle school before marrying in 2009. After a decade working with the federal legislature, he made a selfless decision to pursue teaching so we could move home from DC to be near our families to care for our oldest son who is impacted by MECP2 Duplication Syndrome. You can catch him teaching high school social studies courses during the school year, and it was almost impossible to get him out of the dahlia fields this summer. His tireless planting, staking, and weeding paid off! We get to cut dahlias together most days and prep the farm stand before our “day” jobs. We don’t get much time to relax, especially during harvest season, but what a privilege to be able to this in such a supportive community. Someday we’ll find an extra second to host a farm-to-table dinner so we can share his amazing cooking skills too!
