Backforty Farm and Orchard Specializing in native and/or unusual fruits and nuts along with heirloom gardening, plus poultry and sheep help maintain the orchard.

Besides brambles that grow wild and a pear tree planted by the previous owner the fruits and nuts planted since then that have began producing usable quantities include mayhaw, Indian peach, American hazelnut/filbert, Mexican plum, granite gooseberry, and southern crabapple. Those in more recent or planned expansions if not otherwise still in the process of maturing include black chokeberry, servi

ceberry, Chickasaw plum, dewberry, black raspberry, mulberry, blueberry, elderberry, fig, pomegranate, gogi, grape, muscadine, pawpaw, chinquapin, and butternut, while maypop and persimmon that also grow on their own are similarly encouraged. The flocks being with poultry namely chickens. The the goal with chickens is both a colorful flock and egg basket. Still in to process of adding guinea and runner duck then perhaps turkey and geese. There is a small flock of sheep and hopefully llama and/or spotted donkey can be added for protection.
