The devil is in the details! When we created our Squalls and Doldrums blend, pictured here held by one of the great sculptures on The Plant's grounds, we were pursuing a flavor profile similar to a Moka Java blend - historically the oldest known coffee blend with its rich chocolate notes blended with bright citrus and floral notes. Meet Los Urriola from Boquete, Panama. This single origin, single varietal (Caturra) coffee comes from the Ciriqui province, grown on the slopes of the stratovolcano Baru. The farm is over 80 years old and still owned and managed by the Urriola family. Notes of milk chocolate, nougat and nuttiness with a medium body make for a very pleasant cup whether brewed via a drip brewer, French Press or pour-over.

New year...new coffee! Our newest offering is Simbai Balus Kopi from Papua New Guinea. Also know as "Airplane Coffee" due to its need to be flown from the high mountain areas it is grown in to the valleys below is a sought after coffee for its elegant soft mouthfeel and mild wine-like acidity. Notes of tart mango, stone fruit, molasses, caramel and an earthy nuttiness all wrapped up in a medium/medium-dark roast make up a very balanced cup.
