The Sweet Williams are coming like “gang busters” … whatever that means? What it does mean for us is that winter is over and we are a flower farm once again. We will have lots of bunches of these dianthus along with a rack of mixed bouquets this Saturday at The Carrboro Farmers’ Market. Come see us!

I think I need another class in posting to Facebook! I thought I just posted these 3 pictures about 15 minutes ago, but they aren't showing up??? I needed to post them so I could "grab" them for another application...

For those folks interested in our broilers- Michael and the crew will be loading this latest batch on Monday night, and if all goes as planned.... he will be at Carrboro's Wednesday afternoon market with FRESH CHICKEN. This is big news for a lot of his chicken fans because we have been out since last week.

Folks are always asking what do farmers do when it is "too wet to plow"? Yesterday as we were moving one of the Egg McMansion chicken houses we realized that the chickens had done a great job of eating all the vegetation around a couple of problematic rocks in the lower field. So this afternoon after all our market harvesting was done, we headed down there with all sorts of digging/prying tools to try to see if we could dig them out.

We managed to dig out several good sized rocks that were in the way. However, one of the "small" rocks turned out to be a lot bigger than we ever imagined! Turns out that the part that was above ground was literally just the "tip of the iceberg". With a determined crew and our John Deere tractor we were finally able to wrestle it out of the ground. It now rests up by the bread oven barn .... now we need to figure out if there is anything we can do with the two "monstrous" boulders that remain? ... and how are we going to fill in the hole? (and I use to complain about the wallows that the pigs dug)
