Let’s cut a bridal bouquet for Katie.

All of our NC wedding flower designs start in our field. I go out looking for color, texture and fun details that make our designs unique.

Being able to shop the field lets me be choosy about what I cut (and plant) so I find just the color variation of shoe and form I’m looking for. Not to mention the freshest wedding flowers ever.

NC brides looking for texture, meet celosia. This fun flower comes in several forms and colors from pastels to bold fall colors. Celosia is available in NC from June- fall.

I especially love those fuzzy zigzags in a bouquet. Everyone wants to touch it and fun out of its real.

And if you have any velvet in your attire or venue, it’s a match made in heaven.

Love peonies but getting married in fall? Think dahlias!

They come in so many shapes, sizes and colors. Plus they are at their peak in NC’s fall wedding season.

Why I love designing weddings from our flower farm…

Having a flower farm at my fingertips is a great advantage as a wedding flower designer.

I get to physically pick which flowers, color variations and stem shapes go into our bouquets and arrangements.

And it’s often the quirky stems that add the natural beauty and character to a design. Because they actually grew in a real field.

Real wedding flowers have natural color variation that makes them beautiful and changeable through the seasons.

Here’s a good example of why we talk about wedding color palettes in terms of color stories, not matching.

The end result feels blended and layered instead of matchy matchy.

NC brides who don’t love roses - consider lisianthus. This beautiful locally grown wedding flower is in peak bloom from late summer into fall.

They might be the perfect rose alternative for your bridal bouquet.

The biggest and smallest dahlias blooming on the farm this week. The contrast in color, form and size is enormous and also one of the great parts about being a designer with a farm.

I plan wedding recipes like any florist. But I inevitably find myself walking the fields looking for a specific shade or stem arch. I have the luxury of passing by saying “no, no, not that one … THAT one.”

It’s what makes my designs unique and often hard to quantify. Because very often, I’m letting nature have a design vote.

It’s a fun surprise for my couples and for me. And makes every wedding one of a kind. 💫

2027 Brides - This is your sign to repurpose the pew markers to reception or cocktail tables. No wedding flower left behind.

For my brides who don’t know flower names … no worries. I do.

Just bring me an inspo photo, Pinterest board or a feeling you want to create. I’ll translate that into wedding flowers that may become a new favorite.
