West Coast Kingdom, False Kingdom, DDH False Kingdom, and Pale Kingdom — all four variants, all in one place, all weekend long.

Get a head start today: the taproom opens at 3pm for weekly happy hour, and Off The Press Burgers will be parked out front slinging their incredible burgers.

Nitro Kingdom is here!

Say hello to the creamiest expression of False Kingdom you’ve ever had. We put our Signature IPA on nitro and the result is a pillowy, ultra-smooth pour that’s dangerously easy to drink at 6.8% ABV.

Think of it as the perfect warm-up act — because our 4th Annual False Kingdom Day is THIS SATURDAY 💀👑⚡

Today though? It’s a straight-up gorgeous day, the patio is wide open, and The Torta Truck is parked out front slinging their legendary sandos.

It's shaping up to be a BIG week here at Old Thunder, and we've got so much to celebrate!

First, to all the parents sending the little ones back to school this week: good luck, and we hope everything goes smoothly! 📚

Now, onto this week's releases:

340 Lager is BACK! Our beloved Helles has finished its long lagering rest and it's fresher than ever. This batch is tasting incredibly clean and crisp — exactly what we've been waiting for. Come get a pour!

This Saturday, 8/29 — 4th Annual False Kingdom Day! We're kicking things off in style with a first-ever release: Nitro Kingdom! Our House IPA served exclusively on nitro. Expect tiny cascading bubbles, a velvety-smooth mouthfeel, and a pour that's as fun to watch as it is to drink.

This past Sunday, we released Edward — a 4.2% ABV Irish-style Dry Stout, dry-hopped with Cascade, naturally carbonated, and cask-conditioned. CoStarBrewing brewed Edward to celebrate the life of Edward Burke, who was deeply involved in his community and instrumental to the Etna Community Organization (ECO). We’re honored to be pouring this beer and celebrating the life of Ed. Ed was a regular guest here at Old Thunder, where he enjoyed stouts and cask-conditioned ales. A 100% of every sale will go towards the ECO's construction of the Etna Center for Community — so raise a glass and support a great cause while you're at it.

And don't forget — Black Cat Pizza is in the taproom tonight, serving up the perfect dinner to kick off the week right.

It’s the unofficial-but-official kickoff to back-to-school season here in Pittsburgh! Best of luck to all the students, teachers, and parents getting back into the groove over the next few weeks. 📚

Meanwhile, right here on Freeport Road, we’re gearing up for False Kingdom Day next Saturday, August 29th! Mark your calendars now, because the prep work (aka the fun part) starts today when our taproom opens at 4pm. 💀👑

Distant Mountains (4.8% ABV) — Czech Amber Lager
Our 12º Polotmavý Pivo (“half-dark beer”) is decoction-mashed with the finest malted barley from Germany and the Czech Republic, and hopped solely with Czech Saaz. Expect notes of brown bread, red fruits, dark honey, and flowering hops.

Tonight is BYOF, so bring your favorite snack or grab a bite from one of our great local restaurants — you really can’t go wrong either way. Have a great week, and we hope to see you soon!

It’s official — we are TWO WEEKS out from our 4th Annual False Kingdom Day! 🎉

We’re beyond excited for this one, and especially thrilled to pour our first ever Nitro False Kingdom alongside the whole lineup: False Kingdom, Pale Kingdom, West Coast Kingdom, and DDH False Kingdom. Food will be from Fireside Pizza Company and special treats from Curbside on the Run 😊

Mark the date, and give the family a heads up you might be late for supper 😂

In the meantime, come prep yourself with a few pints today — Camino Food Truck will be out front all day slinging some of the best Mexican-style food around 🌮

Back in May, we teamed up with 𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆🌲 to brew Boxer 4 — we knew it was going to be something special, but we couldn’t wait to see how it would turn out on cask. If you haven’t tried this pub-style ale yet, now’s your chance. It’s a beer that means a lot to all of us, and we think you’ll taste why.

While you’re here, grab a burger from Off The Press Burgers (seriously, get one), pull up a stool, and settle in — it’s Friday, after all.

Friday’s here and so are we 🙌 Our climate-controlled taproom opens at 3pm at Redeye Bar-B-Q in Blawnox — come beat the heat with us 🍗🥵

This week’s cask pour is a good one: Stillage, our English-style Ale, straight off the engine. If you know our cask program, you know this is the one to grab.

Treat yourself to a well-earned Friday pint, and don’t forget to grab a few 4-packs on your way out for the holiday weekend. You’ll thank yourself later.
