We will be closing our taproom on Hamilton Avenue at the end of service on Saturday, June 6. Please stop in to say hello and order a last drink or growler before we close up shop, we’d love to see you.

Our goal from day one was to create drinks to delight and satisfy, to leave as light an environmental footprint as possible, and to welcome everyone through our doors. We are filled with gratitude towards our customers, our excellent local vendors, and our wholesale partners all around the ‘Burgh. Thank you for supporting our operation all this time. 

But this is not a goodbye–it’s a see you later. We will share our next steps once we close this version of Goodlander and begin the next one. 

The last days of Goodlander’s Hamilton Avenue taproom will be as follows:

~ May 27–30, 12 PM-8 PM
~ Sunday May 31, 2 PM-8 PM: 5-Year Anniversary w/ special guests + bluegrass music by our friends The Inlaws (5 PM)
~ June 3 + 4, 12 PM-8 PM
~ June 5, 12 PM-8 PM: ’s Adoptable Cat Meet (5:30 PM)
~ June 6, 12 PM-8 PM: Last day of taproom service

"We received an insane amount of strawberries. Want any?"

We received this message a few weeks back from the good folks at who had received thousands of pounds of strawberries saved from going to waste by the similarly good folks at.

We processed a few hundred pounds of strawberries into our first batches of our summer seasonal STRAWBERRY MOJITO (12% abv) made with rum, strawberry two-ways, mint, and lime 🍋‍🟩🍓

We want ours to be fruity, cooling + heady (and, of course, very bubbly). It features our strawberry cheong (strawberries cold-steeped with cane sugar ’til they yield the richest syrup you ever did see) and then a batch of lime super juice (a low-waste, high-flavor combination of lime zest, lime juice, dried acids, and water). We mix the juice and syrup with piles of freshly-picked mint, add a measure of US Virgin Islands white rum and, finally, the whole batch is filtered, chilled, and thoroughly carbonated.

It’s hitting our menu a touch earlier than usual this year; huge thanks go out to the fine folks at 412FOODRESCUE who saved thousands of pounds of strawberries from going to waste and sent (via friends at VELUMFERMENTATION) oh so very many strawberries our way.

Cold weather in Pittsburgh means Citrus Season is in full swing. And we love getting our hands on fresh blood oranges. All the sweet-tangy goodness of oranges and none of the flavor of blood. A perfect fruit. For this delightful wintry refresher, we tweak our year-round Moscow Mule recipe with a healthy measure of house-made blood orange syrup and a dose of our Waste-Not citrus extract, made from spent orange + lemon peels.

ROSELLE (0% abv) made with hibiscus, lemon, and spices 🌺

We set out to capture the fresh, sweet-sour flavors of hibiscus in a refreshing, alcohol-free, all-day sipper. We start by gently toasting allspice berries, cinnamon sticks, and whole cloves. The spices are steeped with cane sugar, chopped ginger, and whole hibiscus flowers (sourced by the excellent ). We finish the batch with a small squeeze of lemon Super Juice (a low-waste, high-flavor combination of lemon zest, lemon juice, dried acids, and water) and the whole thing gets chilled, filtered, and thoroughly carbonated.

On draft now + always, our ROSELLE is juicy, fruity, and almost cola-like.

GINGERADE (0% abv) made with ginger, lemon, and seltzer 🫚

Not quite a ginger beer and not quite a lemonade, GINGERADE gets the bright citrus from lemons and the sweet-spiciness from ginger. Adapted from the house recipe at the legendary in Eugene, Oregon. We start with a San Francisco-style ginger syrup, which traps the sweet heat of ginger in cane sugar. We add lemon Super Juice, a pinch of salt, and a measure of water. The entire batch is then mixed, chilled, and thoroughly carbonated.

On draft now + always: OOLONG SELTZER (0% abv) 🍃

We start with Milky Oolong, a Taiwanese tea varietal known for its rich, creamy character and its juicy, fruity flavor. We source our tea from , a Dutch company headed by Kiona Malinka, a renowned tea buyer and expert. We flash-brew the oolong in filtered water, chill it overnight, and carbonate the whole batch.

It starts crisp and dry, and finishes peachy-sweet. Contains no sugar. An absolute legend of a beverage.

WHITE GRAPEFRUIT HIGHBALL (10.5% abv) made with vodka, grapefruit two-ways, and champagne-seltzer 👀

You're a reasonable person. You'll forgive me if I repeat myself. You won't judge if I happen to mention over and again the true love we have for grapefruit. We stan grapefruit. The best fruit. The king of all citrus. The absolute GOAF. The unadulterated flavor bomb that is tart + fresh and has none of the bitterness of that Ruby Red stuff.

Our goal is to make a highball that features all the bright + zesty flavors of Florida-grown Marsh white grapefruits. We work the grapefruits two ways: (1) in a slow-steeped citrus sherbet and (2) a homemade extract. Then we mix in vodka and our champagne-seltzer for that extra-fancy feel. Finally, the whole batch is filtered, chilled, and thoroughly carbonated.
