Hazy IPA - 6.8% Abv

Citra - Simcoe - Amarillo - Galaxy

Version #1 of a planned series to explore hazy IPA brewing. The recipe took hop inspiration from the Tree House Brewing Company homebrew Hazy IPA recipe and has a malt and fermentation schedule heavily influenced by techniques shared by Off Script Brewing during their recent appearance on the Craft B**r & Brewing podcast.

Not a bad first try, but needs much improvement. A bit too bitter for the style and needs more hop flavor. The mouth feel and malts are a solid base to build up from. 🍻

We brewed a balanced American Amber L***r to capture the romanticism of this truly American October celebration.

Homebrew Con 2026

We had a great time representing the Three Rivers Alliance of Serious Homebrewers and Three Rivers Underground Brewers (TRUB) homebrew clubs of Pittsburgh on the national stage!

Highlights:

🤝Katrina and Tom had a great presentation on building community partnerships. Sharing our collaboration b**r from Penn Brewery with the attendees.

🥇Tom Sixty South Brewing took home a national gold medal ! Congrats!

🏰 We crushed it at club night representing the city with our Mr. Rogers themed table. We shared 12+ amazing b**rs from all the fellas.

🎉 Excited to share that I’ll be presenting at Homebrew Con 2026!

A little over six years ago, I started brewing b**r. What began as a hobby quickly became a passion for building community through b**r. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to serve as Secretary of both Three Rivers Alliance of Serious Homebrewers and Three Rivers Underground Brewers (TRUB), help organize competitions, collaborate with breweries, support charitable causes, and work alongside some incredible people to create events that bring brewers together.

The Three Rivers Alliance of Serious Homebrewers & Three Rivers Underground Brewers (TRUB) homebrew table absolutely crushed it. Huge lines, kicked kegs and great people!
