Oasis Farm & Fishery We are all about Growing Food. Growing People. Growing Community. Growing Food. Oasis Farm is an initiative of Bible Center Church.

We are a one-of-a-kind urban microfarm located in the neighborhood of Homewood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Our main foci are currently growing quality, hyper local produce and providing urban farming education for people of all ages.

Look at the size of these!

Grown right here at Oasis Farm, in a neighborhood plenty of people wrote off a long time ago.

Something is still growing here. That was always the point.

Saturday, October 24. Put the gloves on.

Community Work Day at Oasis Farm, 10 AM to 1 PM, 7238 Fleury Way. No experience needed. If you have never touched a shovel, somebody will hand you one and show you what to do with it.

Many hands make light work. That is the flyer, and it is also most of what we believe about church.

Closed toe shoes and a water bottle. Sign up at oasisfarm.org/events so we know how many of you to expect.

Somebody is taking these home.

We grow flowers for the same reason we grow food. A neighborhood deserves beautiful things and not just useful ones.

God did not have to make the world beautiful. He did it anyway. We take the hint.

Four Saturdays left.

We sell June through October, so the window to come get what we grew this year is closing. Here is where to find us.

Shiloh Farm Stand, Thursdays 2:30 to 6:30, Thomas Blvd and Homewood Ave.
Homewood Farmers Market, Saturdays 9 to 1, in front of Everyday Cafe at 532 N Homewood Ave.

Nutrition Program checks, EBT and SNAP, Food Bucks, cash, and card. Everybody eats. That is not a slogan, it is the reason a church planted a farm.

Come see us before the tables come down.

Meet the Green Striped Cushaw.

Also called the Striped Crookneck, also called the Sweet Potato Pumpkin, depending on who raised you. Lydia is holding one of ours.

Cushaw is a Southern staple families use in place of pumpkin when it is time to make a pie. The kind of thing you learn from a grandmother instead of a cookbook.

We grow it because food carries people's history, and Bible Center put a farm here to keep what is worth keeping.

The A in our STEAM curriculum stands for agriculture.

Our preschoolers get hands-on time with plants and cooking thanks to our sister program, Oasis Farm. Science, technology, engineering, art, and math, all rooted in something they can actually touch and grow.

Register your baby for preschool today and get them fully ready for kindergarten. Only a few spots left.

Say hello to the bioshelter.

It's basically a greenhouse with ambition, using passive solar design to stretch our growing season well past what Pittsburgh weather would normally allow. More months, more food, more reasons to visit.

This Saturday, September 26th is Community Work Day and we could really use you out here 🙏🏾

There is plenty to do at the farm and no experience needed, so just bring a water bottle and wear something you do not mind getting dirty.

Bible Center Church started this farm so Homewood could grow its own food and it only works when neighbors show up for it. Come give us a few hours.
