Community Kitchen Pittsburgh uses food as the foundation to change lives and strengthen communities by providing culinary training and opening career pathways to individuals who experience barriers to employment. CKP operates out of the idea that every person who comes through our doors is inherently worthy and has the potential to reach and exceed their goals, regardless of their past. We offer t

raining programs, transitional employment opportunities, apprenticeships, and job placement services that are designed to meet participants where they are and connect them with stable, higher-than-entry-level positions in culinary or adjacent industries that lead to wage progression and professional advancement. Since 2014, over 500 students have graduated from CKP, 95% of whom are employed within 30 days. Our graduates are now powering the back of the house in restaurants and professional kitchens throughout Pittsburgh and beyond. We're also a proud member of the Catalyst Kitchens Network.

It seems like just yesterday that these amazing chefs first walked through our doors for orientation, and yesterday, they officially walked across the stage as CKP graduates!

Yesterday at the Spartan Center, we celebrated 28 incredible graduates who have completed our program over the past year. We laughed, we cried, and, most importantly, we celebrated the hard work, dedication, and growth that brought each of them to this moment.

We also handed out two awards of the night: our award for perseverance and our bridge to opportunity award.

Congrats to Ronald Scott for receiving the Perseverance with Purpose award for all of his hard work and dedication to the program.

Congrats to the Kimpton Hotel Monaco for receiving the Bridge to Employment award. For their dedication to employment for our students upon completion of the program.

We could not be more proud of our graduates and all they have accomplished. Congratulations!!

TODAY'S BBQ BASH IS SOLD OUT!

Thank you so much to everyone who preordered for today, and we cannot wait to see you all later for dinner!

If you missed out this week, we are having one last BBQ Bash for the summer on the 21st. With some special menu items for this event, including some beef ribs, burnt ends, tangy pork shots, and some Hazelgrove beer as well. Be sure to pre-order this meal.

Pre-ordering will be open the Saturday before the event, so order early!
