West View Urban Farm Art Fair and Call for Submissions!

Join us on July 11 at the West View Urban Farm for an art fair and sale benefiting three incredible Girl Scout Silver Award projects!

Three teams of Girl Scout Cadettes have been working hard to make a difference in our community:
🐰 Bunny Beans: bringing rabbits to the farm to produce eco-friendly fertilizer
🥚 Urban Eggs: raising chickens whose eggs are donated to local food pantries
💜 Period Poverty Pantry: stocking a free pantry with menstruation products for those in need

Come shop handmade art and crafts, meet the Urban Eggs chickens, and learn about the Farm and these projects! The fair coincides with the Farm's monthly community potluck, so bring a dish and stay a while!

CALL FOR ART: We need your donations!

Are you an artist, crafter, or maker? We'd love to sell your work at the fair! We're accepting donations of handmade art and crafts with a food, farm, or animal theme: paintings, photography, pottery, jewelry, woodwork, fiber arts, garden art, and more.

Drop-off is June 30 – July 9 during volunteer hours at the Farm. All proceeds from the sale of donated items go directly to West View Urban Farm.

Hello, West View Urban Farm friends! While we are not participating in this event, we are happy to promote it on behalf of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Community Center. This event is next Sunday, June 14th, and I hope to drag myself over there after farm hours (11:00-2:00 - hint hint) to check it out and maybe get a Kona Ice.

Next Saturday, West View Urban Farm has two events happening. That’s right!

The second Nurtured by Nature is happening, and we’re getting in touch with nature by making cyanotypes. Please register to attend.

Immediately afterward, we have our second Saturday potluck, which is our 4th annual Strawberry Festival! The food and drink theme is the 🍓!!! Bring your favorite strawberry dish to share with your new friends.

We can’t wait to see you!

First 🫛 of the season. It was pretty cool teaching one of our young aspiring gardeners what a pea plant looks like, that they climb, and when to pick them. Hopefully, he tried the couple he took home.

Members of the farm’s Youth Advisory Board are hosting D&D camp this summer. This is its second year, and sign ups are limited. We had a lot of fun last year learning about the farm, trying new foods, and playing one of the best games ever!

Our second Nurtured by Nature program is happening on Saturday, June 13th, from 3:30-5:00. This is a family-friendly, fun for all ages mindful event. Use the QR code or the link in the comments to register.

This is taking place right before our Strawberry Festival. We hope you will stick around to celebrate the strawberry and another summer at the farm with us.

Please note: Parking is extremely limited on Georgetown Ave. Guests are encouraged to park on Center Ave and walk over. Please email or message us if you wish to attend and need to park closer.

Whoo hoo!!!

We have another special guest coming to our Art for Animals opening reception! Local Girl Scouts from Troop 36774 worked with Rabbit Wranglers on their Silver Award project: Bunny Beans! The scouts will be at our opening reception to share information about their project to bring rabbits to the West View Urban Farm. This Saturday, come learn about Bunny Beans, meet the Wrangled Rabbits, have some snacks, view nearly 100 amazing animal-themed art pieces, and help raise money for Rabbit Wranglers!
