McKittrick-Stephenson Show Rabbits

State Fair is not quite over, but it has been one to remember. We had to divide and conquer. Mom took care of the rabbits with Payton’s cousins and Dad and Payton took care of the poultry. It was her second year showing birds and she took 2nd with her fryers and 4th with her roasters.

It was the year of the rabbits for Payton. After many years of moving up from top ten, to top five, top three and second place, she finally moved up to first place and Grand Champion meat pen! We have been working hard to make better rabbits and I think she put the best rabbits we have ever raised on the table.

Payton was busy all week sitting with her rabbits and talking to the public. Tonight she got to meet the Governor.

We are thankful for our friends and family who were rooting for us and hopefully she can make next year another good year!

We have a handful of bucks looking for new homes! Come find us in the rabbit barn at state fair! Littermates to Payton’s grand champion meat pen!

We will have a handful of fryer sized BUCKS at State Fair this Sunday. All out of either our Blough or Schafer bucks. These will be headed to freezer camp when they get home because this mama is exhausted and tired of feeding them 🙃

Payton had the Reserve Grand Champion fryer, Reserve Grand Champion Meat pen (I think there were 18-20 pens there!) and Reserve Champion Buck with her rock solid Junior Cal at the Pike County Youth Fair.

Blue junior doe raised by our friend. She’s out of a doe raised by us (M1 and our lilac buck) that was line bred back to our lilac buck. We love her color and her type. Looking forward to see her without a baby coat!
