Kevin. You know a person is special when patrons stop in specifically on the nights he bartends. His integrity, good nature, and sneaky sense of humor make him a crowd favorite - and one of the first we call to help train new staff. Tom. You know when you walk into a place and you feel immediately at home? Tom is the kind of guy who makes you feel that way. From long, lively conversations to just being there to listen, he is always there for our patrons and fellow staff members. His favorite Seven Story beer is Can’t See the Line (he loves that Mosaic!). He also loves the diverse live music we’ve hosted over the years, with Backyard Chemistry, Leecy & Greg, and Claudia and Ryan being a few favorites. He’s a bedrock of our crew, and we’re incredibly thankful to have him along on this journey.

Audrey. The OG of OGs. She exemplifies everything that makes our staff so amazing, and if she has ever served you a beer you know why. She is smart, caring, and just plain fun to be around. Her favorite beer here is Thirsty for More Xmas Ale and her favorite live music from the dock is Claudia and Ryan. She also met her fiancé right here in our tasting room. Next up - our brewer. Phill MacArthur. We couldn’t ask for a better person (and friend) to lead our brewing operations. He has an insanely deep knowledge of beer, he is able to perfectly execute a huge range of beer styles, and he’s just an all-around damn great person. We have loved everything he has done for the last five years at Seven Story, and can’t wait to continue the journey with him far, far into the future.

Seven Story Brewing

A Storied History. In 1822, work on the “Great Embankment” in Hartwell’s Basin (now Bushnell’s Basin) wascompleted. The embankment, which is one mile long and 70 feet high, carries the Erie Canal above the Irondequoit Creek Valley. Seven Story Brewing pays tribute to the ingenuity and grit needed to complete one of the most challenging stretches of the Erie Canal - and the heights they went to make it happen.

7 Story Archetypes. It is widely believed and written about that all stories and plotlines ever written fall into one (or more) of seven different categories or story archetypes. These are: Overcoming the Monster, Rags to Riches, The Quest, Voyage and Return, Comedy, Tragedy, Rebirth

Each of our beers will gain inspiration and name from a famous (or newly created) story within each category.
