All 4H calves are spoken for, and none are available at the moment. Anything from here on out will no longer be held back for 4H anyone can pick one out. Thank you, to all those who allowed the kids to be priority when picking out calves. We appreciate it.
We hope all the children do well with their projects at the local county fairs.

I'm currently speaking with a couple other places to get ahold of calves. As the place we're currently getting them from is in a slow down. We won't have any from July- Mid October. Our Jersey girl will be going dry.

Same rules applies to upcoming calves. All calves stay with us until 3 weeks of age minimum, and they're the same price (275). We do this because, typically a calf will come down with "scours" within the first 21 days. It just seems to be the sweet spot. We don't want to send a calf with anyone who is sick, with scours. We want your calf to thrive, no matter what it's being raised for.

Here's to new adventures on our little farm. Finally found our son some Quail to raise.

So now he's got rabbits, laying hens, bantams, guineas, turkeys, and Quail.

Today the bigger calves got to move out into new huts, to make room for new fellas arriving soon.

They were happy to get fresh air, fresh bedding, and full bellies. Room to jump and play. Fence going up this week so they have room to run, and play together during the day.

So there's the update for all you kiddos who have been wondering how your calves are doing.

Ms. Whiskey is a, Wagyu/ Jersey cross heifer.
She is halter broke, breedable (could be bred this summer), and born 6/19/22.
Vaccinated, on mostly pasture and hay, very little grain. She is a solid gal.

Can't wait to see this fella show at the Branch County Fair. Already eating 3+lbs of feed a day and started weaning. He's just a big fella and has been from the beginning. If someone didn't sn**ch him our daughter was going to for sure. But he's been spoken for and his buddy who's going with him is a big fella too.

Both fellas have sold.

#3 is a power eater! Currently eating 2lbs a day, and 3qts of raw jersey milk & replacer. He's go-go-go loves the attention. He can't get enough. Has had all shots ready to leave next weekend.

#9 newer calf ready to leave first week of April. Currently eating 1.5-2qt of raw jersey milk and replacer 2x a day, and slowly starting on grain. Still rather new arrived this week. Has had shots, and been tagged. Will be dehorned once this nasty cold snap this weekend is over, to reduce stress on him.

We have two fellas left until we get more. With that being said, the market has gotten a little crazy, so cost for us could go up from our supplier. Let's hope it don't. If so we'll be forced to raise the price on these fellas. We hate to do it but unfortunately that's what's been happening. These fellas are not from sale barns, they're direct from a dairy.

Sold!

This big fella is ready to move on.
He's a February born calf. Eating like a champ. 3qts twice a day of raw jersey milk. Eating a 33% protein pellet, along with our feed mix. Has had inforce 3 and CD&T. Dehorned, and has been walked on a halter. Will band if you'd like. Can implant as well for extra.
If continued to be handled daily he will make a great 4H project. No reason if fed a good diet, he shouldn't beef up and be in a heavier weight class.
