I said the other day she was still gaining. I was correct she's about 9 # on the dot now, and still filling out.

She is looking for a new barn.

Friendly, and has shown at this years fair. Dylan did very well with her. She'd make a great starter doe for those raising meat pens.

So happy to say this handsome fella found a new barn. He's going to work out perfect for the girl who is just starting out. She raises and shows broken NZs which he'll be perfect for. Plus where she shows in 4H has a pet class so he's good to show once a year. So a win-win.

She is so excited to pick him up. He's the such a big sweetie too. Just love it when it all comes together ❤️.

Meet Aura, our proven New Zealand doe! Born on October 16, 2025, pedigreed, and successfully raised a litter in May 2026 with a 100% survival rate. Current weight is 10+lbs.

Just a heads up: she isn’t the right fit for beginners or 4H kids. She prefers her space while raising her litter—or maybe she just isn’t a fan of Dylan! She is currently looking to hop over to a new barn.

Still no babies yet! I don’t think his tort is having any at all, but that’s okay since she’s younger. I’m pretty sure Purple Rain is pregnant, she’s just really good at hiding them up high like her momma, and there’s lots of fur starting to fly. As for Cruella, I can tell she’s just going to hold them hostage for a hot minute like she did last time. 🐰🍼

Did some backyard grocery shopping.
We eat what we raise, its that simple.
Made some tomato soup for the kid under the weather, fresh from the garden.
Made some apple butter from some apples before they went bad.
Some pasta salad with veggies from the garden.
Cheese and butter from Daisy's milk.
Culled three rabbits. The little bitting jerk is no more. No kids are getting bit. He was mean, had all the makings of a winning rabbit but thats a hard line to cross here.
And Culled the last four remaining meat chickens.
The rest of them is cooking in the roaster to make broth to can.

Then filled a dutch oven up with some beef soup bones. Made broth, and gravy. Then some stuffed shells with cheese from Daisy's milk, and the gravy from the bone broth. And the dogs are happy they got some beef bones to chew on.

Town clothes+ appointment + livestock= chaos

So Friday Lillian an appointment for her . If you're new here quick summary. In December of 2025 Lillian (16 at the time) our daughter suffer a communicating artery rupture, in her frontal lobe, causing a stroke. Shortly after in January she developed requiring a shunt. And her shunt scar has been a pain in the butt since, so theres the summary. She is one of the very few to walk away without cognitive issues.

So Friday she has an appointment its about a 2hr drive to the specialist at this Bronson Hospital in Kzoo from our house. So of course we check animals well, make sure the fence is plugged in ect. All is going good. I walk back up towards the house and look over and see the cows are eating my tomatoes over the fence! Remember were in good clothes, we walk over to see they broke the temporary line and then are working on getting in the chicken coop. I look around and see they have also loosened the outside wires 🤦‍♀️. The morning dew is nice and thick, and were in town clothes. Next thing we know we're fixing fence and our jeans and shoes are getting soaking wet. Trying to figure out why they have done what they have done. Well they showed us, Magnolia was in a good heat and they two of them had lost their brains. Of course it put us behind for our long drive despite preparing to leave early. Most farmer/ homesteader/ livestock owner thing ever lol. Love what we've built but goodness they have perfect timing, haha.

So update on Lillian if you've stayed this long. Her shunt is functioning well. She does have yet another surgical internal stitch working its way out. And some scare tissue being a pain, same spot her original burr hole and line had been. She managed to pop that spot open twice when in the hospital, from the vomiting. Still waiting to hear when she is having her MRA to see if she's getting another coil, stent, or if its all good. Most likely another coil. Have finally gotten her BP under better control, no more crazy spikes happening. As far as her shunt scare for now they are leaving it alone, and going to see if dermatology has some suggestions outside of opening it back up and re-stitching it.

So welcome to our craziness! Never a dull moment here.
