Today's episode of Hughes Humor 🤷🏼‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Our son "THE THROWER"(shot put and discus) became a "RUNNER"(4X800 relay) a little over a week ago! Last night, with a last second surge of our 4th runner, it placed them high enough to qualify for WIAA Div 3 SECTIONALS!!!

Yup, MADE INTO A RUNNER A LITTLE OVER A WEEK AGO LOL! That's the Humor of it, but in all seriousness we are SO EXCITED AND PROUD OF HIM!!

The Track and Field Coaches asked him if he would run the 4x800 relay at the Conference meet last week and then last night at the Regional contest. B does not get excited about running, didn't sign up to run all season, takes after his mama(not the speediest lol) but he sure is pushing himself now and cheering on his teammates! With great coaches, anything can be fun!

He also threw shot put last night and did his season personal best!

It has been a great season for this team and looking forward to Regionals on Friday! Best of Luck to all!!

Derek and Bryce were soil finishing last night with our JD4230, anyone want to guess how the conversation went....
"Send it Bryce!"

Let's just say we had to pull him out backwards, OUT OF THE CATTAILS.

And mom came to the resuce with the good old JD 4020!

It was 9:30pm, late for a school night, we were covered in mud, tired, hungry and cold but those giggling farm boys made the moment memorable.

We had such a pleasure on Friday hosting the 2nd graders from Pittsville Elementary school at the farm! The students learned about cattle nutrition, products made from cows, farm safety, dairy products and sampled flavored milk!! They loved playing with and feeding the calves and we had time to wander out to the pasture to see the big cows. They also loved seeing the milk in the bulk tank and Alan's toy train and tractor collection.! A very special THANK YOU to Farmfirst Dairy Cooperative and Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin for providing many cute trinkets and items for the kids to take home! Also, many thanks to Cassie S and Maddy H for being station leaders. They finished the day enjoying an ice cream sandwich! 🚜The day was fun! 🐮
