We have water!💦🚿🙌🏼
We got running water back a few days ago. It is not safe for consumption without boiling (we drink bottled water anyway), but at least we can shower, do laundry and 🚽 😅.
On my walk downtown today I saw some really heartwarming ways that this fantastic community has come together. Some of the restaurants and other businesses still provide free food, water, and supplies.
Slowly but surely this beautiful town is coming back to life ✨
The road is long, but we're going to make it! 🩷💪🏼💫

Erik and I got back home to Asheville on Monday afternoon. Thankfully we still have power, and internet and cell service has been restored 🙌🏼...but still no running water 😢. They say it will be quite some time before we will have running water again. That being said, we are luckier than so many people -- people who lost everything 🙏🏼. We are grateful.
I took a walk downtown this afternoon.
It is so empty...reminds me of a ghost town 🥺. Just a few weeks ago these streets were full of locals and visitors enjoying the restaurants, local breweries, busking musicians, and the rich, artistic and cultural history of Asheville.
This community is nothing short of amazing 🥹. The way they have rallied to help those in need while dealing with their own losses makes my heart smile.
Ashe💔ille will look different after all the cleanup is done, but I have no doubt it will still be the beautiful, warm, welcoming, and resilient community I've come to love. ❤️‍🩹

I was listening to Pandora on my walk this morning and this song came on. I can't believe that it is nearly 20 years old! 🥹🎤🎼
I have to say it was kind of cool listening to my "younger self" while walking in such a beautiful setting -- it brought back some amazing memories. ❤️

Thinking of my sweet Mom today 🥺.
Today would have been her 98 birthday.
This photo was taken a few years back at my brother's house on her 91st birthday. She always loved to get dressed up, even if she was just going to one of our houses for dinner.

Celebrated my favorite human on Earth last night 😍.

Lovely evening out to dinner with the Birthday Boy. 🥳
We started off with Ruth's Rye Old Fashions and then enjoyed perfectly cooked steaks with all the trimmings and a nice bottle of Cabernet 🥃🥩🥗🥔🍷. Came home and watched music videos and concerts 🎼🎤🎸, cuz we love that!
Perfect ending to a perfect evening.🤩
Love you handsome...57 years young! 🥰🩷

Thank you for the laughs. I remember growing up watching the Bob Newhart show with my parents. You had a long, wonderful life, and you will be missed ✨

Our Neigborhood in Placerville is still under evacuation from the Pay Fire, but thankfully it looks like our house survived 🙏🏼.
Big ❤️love ❤️to our friends and neighbors who reached out and kept us informed of the fire's progress. Quite stressful being 2500 miles away and not being able to see the situation first hand. We are grateful to the wonderful Fire Fighter's who continue to battle this fire in the extreme heat. I think Placerville will reach about 106 today 😔.
