Harvest is officially turning red.

We’ve begun picking our estate Merlot, marking the earnest start of red grape harvest at Lava Cap. After weeks of whites and rosé, the cellar is shifting gears.

Another misty day, another pick of Chardonnay and Viognier. As has been the case this year, extremely low yields but extremely concentrated!

First pick of 2026!

Harvest is officially underway at Lava Cap with Dolcetto for Rosé coming off the vine this morning, a full two weeks earlier than last year. Here we go!
