Free Hand Farm

Free Hand Farm Free Hand Farm is mixed-species grazing operation, focused on the health of the soil, our animals, an We try to respect the innate needs of each species.

Free Hand Farm:
offering GMO-free, soy-free pastured lamb, eggs, and herdshares from our small herd of Jersey cows. Later in the year we will be offering wool products as well. Each animal on our farm is looked after with compassion and treated with kindness. They are living creatures and not commodities. We avoid the use of pharmaceuticals, and will only use antibiotics in cases where herbal medi

cine, essential oils and homeopathy have not worked and the life of the animal is in danger. Our cows are milked once a day and live on pasture, with organic grain as a supplement while they are being milked (for energy), and organic alfalfa (for protein) and minerals given free choice. Our breeding plan is to move away from production genetics and towards animals that can produce rich creamy milk without much grain supplementation. All our calves are raised on site, and none of them go to veal production! Bull calves are castrated (for everyone's safety) and raised on pasture as beef steers. Heifer calves (girls) either join our herd or occasionally are available for purchase as a family milk cow or your own.

Our Story

Free Hand Farm: We partner with our livestock to build rich soil, and provide the most nutritious food possible to our family and community. Our milk is completely unprocessed and comes from cows that live on pasture year-round. Our eggs and pork are raised on pasture with non-GMO, no-corn, no-soy feed, and our lamb is 100% grassfed on our foothill pastures. Thanks for checking us out, hope to see you around the farm!
