Hi All! As many of you know Jim Fish of Anasazi Fields Winery passed away earlier this year. We are saddened to announce that Anasazi Fields Winery will be closing down at the end of December. Many wines will be selling at 50% off retail price now until the end of December. Please come by, say hello, stock up on some wine, and help us go out with a bang. We appreciate all your support over the last 22 years and look forward to seeing you sometime this month. We are open Saturday and Sunday from 12-5. Happy Holidays! Please share and spread the word!

The winery will be open this pre-4th of July weekend. Bring a picnic up and let's see if we can find a wine that sparkles for you or maybe one that goes bang and lights up your taste buds.

We start the day with a clean fresh facility. Things put away. Somewhat organized. We plan to have "Same Tree" entertain us with their dueling mandolins crafted from the same piece of wood. We hope to end the day with a facility looking like we had a good party. Gather up some friends and come on out.

We have been busy this week getting ready for the Placitas Holiday Fine Arts and Crafts Sale that is this weekend Nov 19 & 20. We installed an entryway door and finished up the bottle wall we have been puttering away at. The bottle wall has about 500 bottles and over 2000 pounds of mortar in it. Thanks to Black's Smugglers Winery and Ponderosa Winery for helping out with empty bottles.

Another fun day at the winery. We brought 150 gallons of Rojo Seco (Syrah grape wine blended with the Wild Cherry wine) up from the cellar today so that we can bottle it on Sunday morning. It is super tasty. We will be bottling a few things between now and mid-November so we will have some new releases ready for the Placitas Holiday Sale (Nov. 19-20).
The weather is superb in Placitas right now, cool mornings and warm afternoons, and the cottonwoods have turned a gorgeous yellow-gold.

We are skipping festivals and staying home Labor Day Weekend. We invite you to round up some friends and join us at some point over the three days for a different kind of experience!

Saturday Sept. 3-----------------------------------------
Wine and Food Paring Seminars ($15 per person)
Two Seatings: 1pm or 3pm
Jim Fish will lead you thru the mysteries and pleasures of pairing food with our wines. Cheeses, nuts, smoked trout, hummus, pita chips, dried fruit and chocolate will be sampled with different wines to explore what fits your palate. $15 per person. Limit 20 per seating.

BBQ catered by Powdrell's BBQ House ($25 per person) with music provided by Stagefright Slim
4:30pm to 6pm
Ribs, chicken, sausages, beans, collard greens, and peach cobbler with a splash of Peach Sabroso. $25 per person includes food, one glass of wine and unlimited non-alcoholic drinks. Wines will be available for purchase by the glass and by the bottle at club prices. RSVP by Wed, Aug 31. Limit 75.

Winery Open House, free library wine tasting
12pm to 5:00pm
Jim Fish will be pouring free samples of some of the rare and special wines that he has been hiding in our little library cellar. Included will be 25-year old, pre-commercial apricot and peach wines. Limited quantities of some older, commercial wines also will be sampled and will be available for purchase that day (e.g. 1996 Lilith Peach, 1998 Raspberry, 1996 Plum, and 1996 Sunset).
