🌿 Luffa Growing Update! 🌿

Did you know that luffa (yes, the same natural sponge many people use in the shower!) is actually a type of gourd that grows on a vine? 🥒➡️🧽 They need long, warm growing seasons and prefer soil temperatures of 70° or higher, which makes them a little tricky here in Ohio.

This season’s cold snap set us back—we lost most of our vine—but we’re still hanging onto a couple! One luffa is growing strong 💪 while another is barely hanging on. The good news is that flowers are blooming, which is the first step toward new luffas forming.

We’re doing our best to baby these vines and give them every chance to produce. Even if we only get a few, it’s always exciting to grow something so unique and watch the process from seed to sponge! 🌸🌱

👉 Stay tuned—we’ll keep you updated on whether these blooms turn into full-grown luffas that can be harvested and dried into natural sponges!

🌦️ It’s been raining off and on the past few days, but a little brightness can go a long way. 💐 Ashley dropped off just two sweet bouquets this morning — a gentle reminder that even in between the clouds, there’s always beauty to be found.

🍅 We also have an abundance of Amish Paste tomatoes, perfect for simmering into a cozy sauce or whipping up a fresh batch of salsa at home.

✨ And don’t forget about our misfit produce — still delicious, just a little less “perfect” — available for only $.50 each!
