Sometimes progress looks like a little nose boop. 🤎

We’ve been working with Moose on learning to stay calm and respectful around the donkeys, while Olaf and Coconut have been learning that the big dog on the other side of the fence isn’t a threat to them—or their llama friends.

Safe to say, Moose and Olaf might just be figuring each other out. 🥹

These handsome fellas got their very first pedicure since joining the Plain Pastures crew. 🤎

We couldn’t have asked for them to behave any better. They stood like little gentlemen, soaked up all the love, and definitely earned a few extra treats and plenty of snoot boops afterward. 🫏✨

Remember those tiny little seedlings I planted?

Well… they didn’t die. 😂🌱

In fact, they’re turning into the prettiest little cutting garden! Garden updates have been few and far between, but we’ve got fresh bouquets, happy blooms, and sunflowers that are somehow taller than their caretaker. 🌻

I guess that’s kind of been the theme of this season. Things have been a little quieter in the social media side of things, but that doesn’t mean nothing’s been happening. Sometimes the best things are growing behind the scenes before they’re ready to be shared.

For now, I’ll leave you with a little flower update… and I promise there will be plenty more blooming stories to tell soon. 🤎

Guess I’ll be just like everyone else in Wisconsin and post about the smoke today. 😅

But in all seriousness, this photo doesn’t even begin to capture how hazy it really is. The air quality is hazardous here, and it’s a stark reminder of just how widespread these wildfires have become.

As uncomfortable as the conditions are here, they pale in comparison to what so many people in Canada and Minnesota are experiencing. We’re praying for the safety of everyone affected—for the firefighters, families, farmers, ranchers, the land, the wildlife, and the livestock. Hoping for relief and much-needed rain soon. ❤️🌧️

Fair week is officially underway! 🦙☀️

After a busy first day getting everyone settled, the llamas and alpacas are relaxing and ready to meet lots of new friends. If you’re coming to the Sauk County Fair, be sure to stop by and visit us!

📍 Exotics Show: Friday at 5:00 PM
🦙 We’ll be at the fair through Sunday afternoon.

Born on July 2, Emilia is the newest face around Plain Pastures.

She’s already showing us plenty of personality, and it’s becoming pretty clear she’s inherited more than just her looks from Ezalea. Emilia is curious, always wants to know what’s going on, and has already figured out that wherever mom goes, there’s probably food involved. 😅

If she’s anything like her mama, we know we’re in for a lot of laughs, plenty of snacks, and one very friendly llama. We can’t wait to watch this little girl grow into herself.

Mama Ezalea has something she’d like to share… 🤍

Yesterday she welcomed a beautiful little girl into the world! We were able to get mama and baby safely under shelter just before the storms rolled through last night, and we’re so thankful they’re both doing well.

Baby is already proving she’s hungry, hungry… just like her mama. 😆🍼

Happy 1st Birthday to PPWI Hillbilly-Bob! 🎉🦙

One year ago today, Hillbilly made his debut, and he has kept us guessing ever since.

If there’s trouble in the pasture, Hillbilly always seems to be nearby. Whether he’s the one instigating it or simply supervising is still up for debate. 😂 His aloof personality makes him one of a kind, and we’re excited to see what the future holds for this handsome boy.

Petunia has always been one of those girls with a personality all her own, and it has been so much fun watching her pass those same traits down to her son, Lucky. From the attitude to the expressions, there are days when there’s no denying who his mama is!
