Americans love Italian wine and they now appreciate and enjoy Rosé
throughout the entire year. Italy currently leads US wine imports with a retail growth in value by 12.8%
as reported by 2020 Nielsen Retail Data and a market share of 32.6%. In
2019, Nielsen reported that Rosé outpaced sales of white and red wines,
growing at +29% and capturing 3.7% market share. The Rosé category
growth
indicates that there is much more potential for Rosé and,
specifically, Italian BACI al SOLE Rosé. In collaboration with the famous wine producer of the Veneto area, Andrea
Sartori, and Michael Romano of Artisan Selections by Romano Brands Fine
Wines, are producing a world class Rose’ hailing from bella Italia. The
pristine grapes used to produce Baci al Sole Rose’ are grown in the palm
tree lined prized region of Lake Garda, where the Veneto and
Lombardy regions converge. The commercial production of Rose’ is a longstanding tradition in this area where Rose’ wine was first made in dating
back to 1896, making this region one of the oldest and finest Rosé
producing areas in Italy. Corvina is the main variety utilized, blended with
Rondinella and Molinara; all grapes that are also used in Amarone and
Valpolicella. Michael Romano’s history and expertise in Rose’ wine spans more than fifty
years. From his early youthful enjoyment of dry Portuguese, Rose’ wines,
to his further enjoyment of the more sophisticated, French Rose’ wines,
particularly from Provence, Romano’s epiphany was more than twenty
years ago while enjoying a lunch on the beach in Nice, France. His eyes
gravitated to a particular wine brand that dominated the beach tables
which he realized was Chateau Minuty. As a US Wine importer, Romano
made every effort to secure this brand for the United States. Successfully,
Romano reintroduced premium, dry Rose’ in the famed Hamptons in New
York. This introduction to the market turned into more than a sparking
catalyst for the Rose’ craze that has since captivated the entire wine world. Moving forward with his passion for Rose’, Romano developed and
produced another winning Provencal Rose’ of his own named Maison Belle
Clare, which also became internationally famous. His love affair with Rose’
wine has now taken him back to his entrenched Italian roots to produce
what he states is the “Rose’ wine with the flavor he had been searching for during his life-long quest for the perfect Rose’.” And that Rose’ is finally
here in the USA – BACI al SOLE. So, it is from Italy with love, that Artisan Selections by Romano Brands
brings to you, “kisses in the sun” – BACI al SOLE.
