THIS UPCOMING SATURDAY - June 20th: Spam & Stories Saturday at the Hollis Country Store! 🥪

You've asked for it.

You've talked about it.

And this Saturday, we're finally serving it.

For one day only, the Hollis Country Store will be adding Fried Spam Sandwiches to our regular lineup of fried bologna sandwiches and ham sandwiches.

Now before anybody starts an argument, we're not claiming Spam is better than bologna.

We're just giving folks a chance to enjoy a taste of nostalgia and decide for themselves...

For some, Spam brings back memories of grandparents, family farms, hunting camps, fishing trips, and simple meals shared around the table.

For others, it'll be their very first time trying it.

Either way, that's what Spam & Stories Saturday is all about!

Come grab a sandwich, pull up a chair around our tables, and share a story or two.

- Tell us about the first time you ate Spam.

- Tell us who made the best fried bologna sandwich you ever had.

- Tell us about a hunting trip, a fishing trip, or a family member who could turn a simple meal into a feast.

Front Porch Thoughts from Hollis Country Store...

One thing we've always believed here at the Hollis Country Store is that a country store ought to listen to its customers.

For generations, folks have gathered inside these old store walls and on the front porch sharing stories, memories, and ideas. And when enough people ask for something, we try our best to make it happen.

A couple of cases in point...

We've had a whole lot of folks ask us about Spam sandwiches over the years. Some remember eating them growing up, while others just want to see what all the fuss is about. So this Saturday, June 20th, we're giving it a try!

🥪 So for one day only - this upcoming Saturday, June 20th - we'll be serving Fried Spam Sandwiches at the Hollis Country Store! Will they become a regular menu item? Well, that depends on y'all. Come give one a try and let us know what you think...

And while we're talking about listening to our customers, here's another bit of news...

Many of you have told us you'd love more opportunities to visit the store than just Saturdays. We've heard you.

We're still working through the final details, but we're excited to share that beginning in July, we plan to add Thursdays and Fridays to our schedule along with Saturdays. We'll be announcing all the details very soon.

We appreciate every customer who takes the time to share ideas, memories, and suggestions. The Hollis Country Store has always belonged as much to the community as it has to us, and your input helps shape what comes next.

What a wonderful day! Thank you to everyone who stopped by—from our local families and friends to visitors who traveled from miles away, including guests from Salt Lake City, Utah.
One of the highlights of the day was meeting a sweet newlywed couple (and their adorable little dog!), Mark Jean and Julie “Jules” Woolfrey Jean, who stopped in on their Spyder motorcycle while traveling to Texas.

We've got some exciting ideas brewing here at the Hollis Country Store.

Over the coming months, you'll likely see us add a few new things, try a few new ideas, and continue looking for ways to make your visit to Hollis Country even more memorable.

BUT...

There's one thing that will never change.

Everything we do will stay true to who we are.

We're not interested in becoming something we're not. We don't want to be the biggest, the busiest, or the trendiest place around. What matters most to us is preserving and sharing the things that make this corner of the Ouachita Mountains so special.

That means being a real country store. A place where neighbors gather, travelers slow down, stories are shared, and traditions are passed along.

It means celebrating our local history and heritage. It means supporting our community. It means helping visitors discover the beauty of the mountains, rivers, forests, and backroads that we call home.

And it means growing in a way that's sustainable and authentic—carefully and thoughtfully, without losing sight of what brought us here in the first place.
