Cow #8 and her adopted calf took a ride up to the yard.

It took a few days and quite a bit of coaxing with alfalfa treats, but she loved this little guy now.

They'll spend a few more days up here just to solidify the match and then we'll bring them back out to join the herd.

This girl had a hard week.

Nice part is that she stands still and lets the baby eat while we feed her alfalfa treats.

Pretty unusual for a range cow.

We're hoping after a couple days this calf becomes hers in every way that matters... without needing us to continue bribing her.

The only unusual part is that this cow will stand still for treats. šŸ˜‚

While the rest of the herd is out grazing, this mama is holding down the fort on babysitting duty.

Keeping an eye on the calves, soaking up the sunshine, and probably enjoying a little peace and quiet for once.

Honestly, not a bad assignmentā€”warm sun, fresh air, and a front-row seat to the next generation growing up.

Around here, even babysitting comes with a pasture view.

Two things make our beef different.

1. Patience
We finish on grass, not shortcuts. That means giving each animal the full time it needsā€”often two years or moreā€”to develop naturally. No rushing, just letting them reach their best.

2. Genetics
Years ago, we tested our herd for tenderness using ultrasound. Only the best made the cut. That standard still holds, so every animal we raise carries the kind of marbling you can see and taste.
