Rocking Martini Farm U-Pick Apples in the fall, Farm-Fresh Eggs and Local Honey year-round

07/29/2026

UPDATE: July 29, 2026, Very reduced crop from the May freeze. Still "hoping" for a few days of U-Pick apples as they ripen (none yet, will post dates here). "Hoping" being the key word as the bird damage to the apples this year is extraordinary! If they keep this up we will not have apples....only guesses as to why the birds are being so hungry for apples!

July 2026 and we are looking forward to having apples this year!
A very very warm winter (was there a winter?) and a hard late freeze in May equals frozen blossoms. We probably lost 80-90% of our potential crop. We will have limited apples to pick provided Mother Nature keeps squirting the farm with her hail. ZESTAR! , Williams Pride, Frostbite, LIberty varieties...Keeping our fingers crossed.
Watch here and on our web page and instagram for updates. Zestar ripens mid-late August for our earliest variety. Saturday and Sunday will be open dates for Apple Picking, no reservation needed!

Space for a Tiny Home!

Do you enjoy growing things and physical work outdoors? We have a small farm and apple orchard with a space for a TINY HOME that includes: 240Volt/50 amp electrical service, potable water from our well, and GREY water septic. (you must have a composting toilet or similar for sewage). Ideally a single person or couple.

And the cost???? We are offering the space in exchange for help and labor. (Electricity is metered and would cost the going rate of Kwh.).
It is 20-30 hours a month labor (varies on season) assisting with small farm and 5 acres of apple trees. This has worked out well in the past with a TINY HOME couple. Love of plants and gardening, a desire and willingness to work alongside owners in orchard care and farm help/maintenance. Enjoy a cold December day outdoors pruning apple trees? Mundane tasks of farm and building upkeep? Chance to learn about running a small U-Pick apple orchard.
The farm is west of Platteville, 20 minutes east of Longmont (5 miles east of Interstate 25).
About 45-60 minutes (traffic) from Denver or Ft. Collins. Home location on property is quite private. Rural feeling with shopping nearby.

Genuine desire and aptitude for physical work is what is required. If this sounds good, please contact us for more details.

Space is also available for $700/month without labor exchange.

Trying to appreciate the beauty of a Colorado snow fall, something I have always loved about living in Colorado. However, this cold front comes with the pain of freezing blossoms as the temperature dips into the mid/low 20's tomorrow morning. If you look you can see the pink blossom under that snow..

The trees are starting to blossom....3 weeks early.

One photograph shows the "King Blossom " and the five surrounding blossoms. In apple trees, every fruiting spur produces a cluster of six buds, where five centered around a central blossom known as the King Blossom. This blossom is the first to open and pollination of it is key in insuring a good fruit set. The fruit of the King blossom is often larger than the others in the cluster.
