Would you be interested in a quarter, half, or whole beef in July?
We are harvesting a few head of beef and are offering them for sale. You pick the cuts and pay processing to the butcher at the time of pick up. You would pay us per pound for the hanging weight of the beef based on market prices at the time of harvest. A whole beef averages 600-800 lbs hanging weight or 350-550 lbs of packaged beef. Using $4/lb of hanging weight as an example, you can expect a whole beef to cost between $2400-$3200 to us and another $800 to the butcher. That’s $6-$8/lb of beef. Much cheaper than local grocery stores or even local butcher resale prices.
If you are interested in picking a specific head of beef you are welcome to come to the farm and choose one. Please PM this page or Rachel Pounders if interested.
We will need your name, address, and phone number to give to the butcher so they can get your specific instructions on which cuts of beef you want. We do ask for a small non-refundable deposit to hold your beef but it will be credited to your beef purchase in July ($50-$150 depending on which size you pick).
Thank you for supporting this small family farm.
