A little reminder from the farm: you don’t have to get everything done today for today to count. 🤎

Some days you bake the bread, fold the laundry, and tackle the to-do list.

Other days you rewash the same load of clothes and stand in the kitchen trying to remember why you walked in there. 😂

Both kinds of days happen here.

So tell me one little win from your day. Got out of bed? Made a phone call you’ve been avoiding? Finally folded that laundry?

I’m counting it. And if the laundry is still in the basket… you’re among friends. 🧺

Country directions will have you turning at a barn that burned down in 1998, passing somebody’s grandma’s old house, and looking for a gate that “used to be red.” 😂

And somehow, that’s clearer than an address.

Our address doesn’t really work in GPS, so our directions are: “Turn by the school and follow the road until it dead ends at our house. If you hit the levee, you’ve gone too far.” 🤣

No street names. No mileage. Just landmarks and a little faith.

What’s a landmark people STILL use for directions where you live? Bonus points if it hasn’t existed in 20 years!

Happy National Farmer’s Day! 🚜🌾

I’d tell our farmers to take the day off, but it’s harvest season… so we’ll settle for lunch in the field and asking “what time will you be home?” knowing nobody actually knows. 😂

Our family has been farming since 1909, and we’re proud to keep that going here at Smith Family Farmstead. There’s a lot behind every harvest—long days, breakdowns, watching the weather, and family showing up to help wherever they’re needed.

Today, I’m especially celebrating Jeremy, his dad Bruce, his uncle Mike, and our son Devlin. I see the hours you put in and the work it takes to keep this farm going, and I’m proud of all four of you. Seeing generations of family working together makes it even more special. ❤️

I wonder how many things we do now would make our younger selves stop and say, “Wait… we know how to do THAT?”

Bake bread. Raise animals. Grow food. Fix something ourselves. Get through a day we thought we couldn’t handle.

It’s easy to notice everything we still need to learn and forget how much we’ve already figured out.
