One problem with getting older is many memories of certain days start to blur into one giant memory. I guess it is the ones that stand out that were really important. It was sometime in the late 80's in Flat Thorofare and we had waded quite the distance from the boat. As per usual my chocolate lab Molly would be swimming along as happy as could be. Well, the greenheads were relentless and her snout was bloodied by their attacks. Robert was clamming the other end of the thoro and was pulling out for the day. Said he would give her a ride back to my boat so she could get some relief. I thanked him and the task was done. 20 minutes later after eating my and Cookies lunches from a sealed igloo cooler here comes the damn dog again. Just another great day clamming. RIP Robert Champion.
