One of our favorite parts of what we do is getting to work with young, talented kids who love the industry. And this summer, we were blessed with three AWESOME interns, and ones we loved so much we are sad to see them go!
In Iowa โ we had Cole Kinsella and Brant Benes join us. Honestly, we didnโt know either of them much at all before they joined. And itโs amazing how it just 3 months, they feel part of the family. Their ability to learn our process, learn the cow families and take ownership in many responsibilities, made them key players in tackling all things in our summer. Our favorite part was their openness of asking questions โ showing their desire to learn and grow! And their positivity even when we had to paint fence in the 100 weather - at least they got some good tanning in. Good luck Cole and Brant as you head back to BHE and UNL!
In Ohio - We had Lance Brinksneader. We had got to know Lance over the last year or two as he has shown a few heifers from us. When we needed some additional summer help, we thought he might be a good fit โ and he proved us right. From farm projects to calf washing, when the wheels were falling off the bus, Lance kept everyone laughing. He also wins the award for โmost time spent on his hair in the morningโ and โmost intense attitude at Jr National dodgeball.โ Best of luck at Lakeland, Lance!
We know good help is hard to come by so we are so so thankful for these three boys!!!
