I’ve been quiet lately… taking time away from making boards for others to focus on my family and balance my own time. 2024 flew by while being crazy busy (in a fun way) at work with tons of travel coast to coast, celebrating big life milestones for family and friends, learning how to raise a teenage daughter (with love and empathy), officially finishing the first half of my MBA alongside my husband (both with straight As!) and taking up hot yoga alongside my sister to better my mental and physical health.
As the holidays approached and I started to get requests for boards, I decided it was time to take a break from Boarderline Obsessed and focus on enjoying the holidays with family and friends this year, instead of making over 150 boards like I did last December.
Today, as we prepare to host my mom and sisters’ families for a blended Christmas, in the quiet of my kitchen, I was reminded why I started making boards in the first place: for family and friends to enjoy while we stand around a kitchen island, snack away, and enjoy each others’ company.
With care and love, I strategically placed the Bellavitano away from the meats for my vegetarian sister (with almonds and dried cranberries nearby for easy pairing), made sure there was plenty of Brie for my niece’s boyfriend, loaded it with fresh fruits for another niece, included Irish Kerrygold cheddar for my husband, added squeaky cheese curds for the out of town kiddos, and made sure there was plenty of cheddar and colby Jack for my daughter.
It filled my heart with joy and made me excited for a night ahead filled with good company, laughter and love. Wishing you all a happy holiday season and new years celebrations ahead!
