It's official - Plymouth Cheddar is one of the best cheddars in the world! We entered the Plymouth Cheddar into the most prestigious (blind) cheese competition In North America - the American Cheese Society Judging and Competition - in a highly competitive and very crowded category - "Cheddars aged over 13 through 23 months. All milks!" We were up against industry titans with huge budgets, foundations, and massive teams behind them .... and we took home the bronze!! Aged for one whole year, Plymouth Cheddar is a full-bodied cheese, rounded with the perfect balance of cream and tang. It's the most historic of the English varieties — an old-world recipe with a sharp, rich flavor profile that lingers, like a passed down story - and said to be closest to what the settlers of the 1600s enjoyed. As the great forebearer of the whole Plymouth line, this cheddar tastes like a walk back in time.
