Pop-Up Market Availability!

Hello Everyone! We are so looking forward to being at the pop up market THIS Thursday from 3-7 at Farm 1849!

We will have arugula, spinach and salad mix ready to eat! Also, available are plants ready to go into your garden! Preorder encouraged. Choose varieties at pick up.

Many varieties to choose from:
Tomatoes- $3 apiece or 4 for $10
Peppers- $1 apiece or 4 for $3
Lettuce- .50 cents apiece or 10 for $3
Broccoli- .75 cents apiece or 6 for $3

Ready to eat- Arugula, spinach, salad mix bagged $4 per bag- 5oz.

Comment below with your order and pay via Venmo. Again, this is for pick up at the pop up market.

Special REKO pop up market at beautiful Farm 1849 in Greenbush on Thursday, May 7, from 3-7pm.

This was put together to give you a chance to get out and chat with your favorite local farms and small businesses at a beautiful local venue, while still getting all the weekly local goods you love.

Would you rather bend over & plant every seedling by hand or sit on a tractor implement & simply drop them into their home in the ground? 😏

We'd rather plant as much as possible as quickly as possible, & this carousel planter is going to help us continue to do just that. Sitting & dropping seedlings it is!👏🏻

We will use this for planting as many things as we can appropriately space with it. Already we've used it to plant some broccoli, kale, kohlrabi, scallions & onions.🌱

And we're just getting started! There is a TON more planting on our horizon.

Watching the sky clear away & open up while you're planting is always a beautiful sight to see.⛅🌈😌

The most recent Springdale group project! - Repairing the roof top of one of our greenhouses.😃😬 Who likes heights? 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️

Patching holes can only go so far until eventually you need to replace & start new as we are pictured here.

Greenhouse space is prime estate on the farm & so their upkeep is something of a constant. Worth it? We think yes! So much of your tomatoes (which are just starting to get planted 🥳), celery, basil, cucumbers, zucchini, peppers & then greens like spinach salad mix & arugula at certain times of the year do much better in them.🍅🥒🌿

What greenhouse veggie is your favorite? Have you ever noticed a difference between how some of your produce looks at one point in the season to another? That can usually be as simple as if it was planted in the field or greenhouse.🌱🙂

The Reality of It 🌿😬

When it's mid April & you've got tons of seedlings to re-pot & move around, fields to spread compost & lay mulch in, cleaning & organizing to do, the last thing on your mind is weeding the winter salad mix.

Just one warm week later though & BAM!💥 Chickweed & lambs quarters are evvverywhere with a little wild mustard, dandelions & stinging nettles in there too.😁

While the thought of wheel hoeing this thick weedy madness is a bit daunting, we think it's pretty cool a lot of our natives are also edible. Plus, eating & wheel hoeing whatever you don't want will always beat spraying your food with toxic chemicals. To us at Springdale, that's never been an option!👍🏻

Chickweed pesto, sauteed lambs quarters & nettle leaves, mustard & dandelion greens salad; don't forget their flowers on top.😋

Wheel hoeing and raking out old winter spinach beds to get the greenhouse ready for the tomatoes that will eventually be planted in here.

Hard workers make all the difference and we're thankful to have Haley and Justin who do just that! 👍🏻🙂
