One reason I love home canning is the variety of foods you can preserve. Our family life is quite often busy/borderline chaotic and I can breathe easy knowing my kids have tasty and healthy foods to choose from! A few things we've tried are:
Italian sausage and bean soup, SW chicken chili, spaghetti bolognese sauce, plain tomatoes/juice from our garden tomatoes, baked beans, canned pears, peaches, applesauce, taco fillings, seasoned chicked and whatever else you can easily can! My kids even eat my green beans with no complaints. If you've got access to high quality produce this summer try it! I promise pressure canning is easy to get right.
