$5 handmade natural deoderant
Commercial deoderants contain so many terrible and toxic ingredients, antiperspirants are even worse. It is natural to sweat. We shouldn't be blocking our sweat glands. So I decided to make my own deoderant made from beef tallow. I've had a few testers and they have all loved it. It's made from all natural ingredients without a strong scent, and comes in such a cute little jar. I am selling them for $5 a jar. Plus shipping if you don't live local(Pocatello, Idaho) They will last a few months. You use less than a normal deoderant stick or jar.
Ingredient list:
Beef tallow
Magnesium
Rosemary
Calendula flowers
Orange and jasmine essential oil

MAGNESIUM
Signs of low magnesium include: acid reflux, anxiety, arthritis, asthma, diabetes, headaches, kidney stones, fatigue, insomnia, and autoimmune diseases, just to name a few. Try transdermal magnesium and see the positive impact it can have in your life! Transdermal(entering through the skin) magnesium is the best way to get your magnesium.

🍽How to eat for good digestion

This is hard to read, I know. It helps to do one at a time. Some of them will be hard to change and will take time.

• Keep your proteins simple and separate. Don't combine proteins.
• 🥛Dairy is a protein that is best eaten alone or with some grains. (It is best to not mix it with other animal proteins.)
• The “heavier” the food, the heavier it can be on your digestion. Sometimes we need heavier foods, but be aware of the state of your digestion in the moment.
• 🍎Fruit is best eaten alone or as a snack, and cooked in small amounts.

Food combinations for good digestion
•Beans are only combined with grains, vegetables, nuts, and seeds.
•🧀Cheese should only be combined with grains and vegetables.
•Yogurt should only be paired with grains and vegetables or spices
•🍳Eggs should only be combined with grains and vegetables

Food combinations that are toxic for digestion
•Yogurt and fruit
•Beans and cheese
•Eggs and cheese
•Two different kinds of meat

If you want to fix your digestion, it is possible. Fixing these ways of food combining that have been said to be healthy can be hard but very rewarding.

The protein in gluten and dairy are the two most difficult to digest, so if there is any problem with digestion, they are the first to go. Once the gut and liver become so compromised, they can pretty much attack any food you eat and give digestive symptoms every day. We tend to just avoid the foods we are allergic to but actually this is our body's way of telling us that our digestion is weak and needs help so when we just avoid those foods and not take care of the underlying problem, we end up with one food allergy after another.

We need to regrow that friendly gut bacteria. One really great way is to make homemade yogurt with raw milk by using this yogurt starter. It makes fantastic yogurt. This brand also makes probiotic capsules that have been tested as one of the best on the market. It's extremely hard to keep active probiotics as a pill and powder and this company does an amazing job. They also have some that are dairy free for people who are sensitive to dairy right now and even ones for children.

Take a look at all your options. You won't regret it.

Getting out in nature....
Have you ever noticed how good you feel after a day outside? Like going camping or spending a day at the beach or a long hike, and how amazing you sleep that night?

According to Ayurveda, our health relies on the balance with the elements(earth, water, fire, air, and space). This is why when you have a disconnect with nature, you don't feel as good. There are so many of us that have lost that connection. Nature allows us to remember we are more than “this body” and “this mind,” and that we are whole and connected. Nature soothes and heals the nervous system and invites us to connect with something larger than ourselves. A walk through the woods, or by a river or ocean, releaves worry, stress, and anxiety.

Nature is where our food is created(or it should be) and when we are connected to nature our bodies can more easily recognize and translate the food into energy.

GET OUTSIDE ON A DAILY BASIS
It doesn't have to be an all day thing. Just get out for a walk in the morning or after dinner for 20 min. Why do you think we need vitamin D and when we are low it causes havoc in our bodies? Because we are supposed to be outside getting some sun as much as we can.

We need to stop being connected to all of those electronics, and start being more connected to nature.

Imbalances
Do you remember the post about which dosha you are, vata, pitta or kapha? Each dosha also has an imbalance which is more important than what dosha you are born with. When you know which one you are imbalanced in, then you can figure out how to balance yourself to free yourselves of illness and disease.

Pitta has hot, oily, sharp, light, sour, fluid, and pungent attributes. It has summer qualities which means you can become prone to access pitta in the summer especially if you are mostly pitta dosha. In Ayurveda, like increases like so if you are feeling an imbalance in pitta, you want to do the opposite. Pitta is part of digestion and metabolism so the main ways to be pitta imbalanced is indigestion, heart burn, or diarrhea.
Burning sensations throughout the body
Red, irritated skin
Particularly stinky sweat
Fever
Inflammation
A hypercritical or intense mental outlook
Sensitivity to the sun
Hot flashes

Vacations are so so fun but also are hard on your body. They tend to throw you out of balance. I've talked about what it looks like when your vata(dosha) is out of balance. Traveling increases your vata. The movement, change in altitude, weather, and daily schedule aggravates vata. The best way to balance this is to try to keep your routine and regular times for sleeping and eating.

Eating light including staying away from fast food and snacks that are dry, cold and super salty (I love the almonds roasted in ghee) Eating foods that are hydrating, nurturing and rich in protein will help. Eating warm cooked food and avoid drinking with meals. This will help with digestion. Drink in between meals. Drink plenty of water and herbal teas to stay hydrated.

Make sure you spend at least a little time in nature and practice breathing exercises(count to 8 while breathing in...hold and count to 4...then count to 8 while letting out your breath and hold for 4 again) in the mornings and anytime you are feeling stressed. Having slower mornings help to combat increased vata and get your digestion working throughout the day.

Imbalances
I posted about the doshas and which one you are born with but it's more important to know which dosha you have an imbalance in. The post would be too long if I tried to talk about all 3 so I will break it up.

Vata imbalance
-Dryness of skin, hair, lips, and joints
-Bloating, gas, constipation
-Scattered mind, restlessness, dizziness
-Being cold, poor circulation, asthma, aches and pains
-Too much movement, anxiety, muscle twitching, and agitation.

Balancing your imbalance
-First....slow down. Too much going on in your life(too much movement)is the worst for a vata imbalance.
-Do yoga and meditation to slow yourself(breathing exercises)
-Drink warm to hot water(seems weird but it's actually great)
-No raw or cold food or drink(like raw veggies, cold milk or water)
-Eat cooked warm whole food with plenty of ghee or olive oil(ghee is better)
-Increase the tastes of sweet, salty, and sour.
-Pumpkin, sweet potato, beets, carrots, and zucchini, brussel sprouts, avocados, dates, figs, lemons, limes, papayas, grapefruit, and grapes are all beneficial vegetables and fruits.
-For grains, legumes, and nuts, try rice, oatmeal, quinoa, split mung beans, almonds, walnuts, pecans, and cashews.
-Beneficial spices include black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, cumin, fennel, ginger, turmeric, and saffron.
-Regular routine is extremely important. Sleeping between 10pm to 6am.
-3 meals a day with regularity
