Apply now for a federal Urban & Community Forestry Inflation Reduction Act Grant. Division of Forestry & Fire Protection is available to provide technical assistance or write letters of support for applicants.

❗ Closing date for applications: June 1, 2023 at 7:59 p.m. AKST.

These federal grants are competitive multiyear, programmatic grants for tree planting and related activities, with a priority for projects that benefit underserved populations and areas. The grant funding is available to community-based organizations, tribes, municipal and state governments, nonprofit partners, universities, and other eligible entities as they work to increase tree cover in urban spaces and boost equitable access to nature while bolstering resilience to extreme heat, storm-induced flooding, and other climate impacts.

The final funding amount will depend on the total funding requested from proposals and their potential impact on disadvantaged communities.

This Thursday, July 21 at Noon, join Julie Cascio for a virtual class as she gives direction on canning fish.
This class will go through the steps in heat processing fish, which are low acid food, in jars, botulism prevention, use and care of a pressure canner, and types of pressure canners.
