This Earth Day felt extra meaningful for us!

We made our first farm-to-school delivery - bringing locally raised, grass fed beef hot dogs from Tierra Verde Farms to Crestview Local School District to be served in the elementary school lunch.

It's a small shift with a big impact: supporting local agriculture and providing students with nutrient-dense food!

We are excited for many more deliveries to come!

We have an exciting update! Lamppost Farm has launched a Farm to School Initiative! This year, we will focus on facilitating partnerships between local farms and schools to bring nutrient dense food to school cafeterias and school communities.

We kicked off this initiative on March 10th when Lamppost brought together Tierra Verde Farms and Crestview Elementary School in Columbiana! Crestview served up 250 chicken drumsticks from TVF for their Farmers Market Day lunch and we couldn’t be more thrilled!

We are continuing to collaborate with more local school districts to plan farm fresh menus for the 2026-27 school year! We will be fundraising to support our students health as well as our local farms and food systems. If you’d like to donate to this important work, please visit our website: www.lamppostfarm.org/donate.html

Thank you for your encouragement and prayers as we move ahead with this work!

2026 brought an exciting transition for Lamppost Farm! Though Steve has handed off the reigns of Executive Director to myself, Amanda Glass, Lamppost Farm remains a nonprofit organization with a mission to Reach and Teach Through Agriculture and foster connections between our community and farmed food as God intended.

You can read the letter in full at the link on our website page: www.lamppostfarm.org/about-us.html

Stay tuned for further updates about Lamppost Farm's new initiative!

Follow the adventures of Fireberry here!

What is a Fireberry? Where did this name come from? Here is a quote from a Narnia Fan Page:

"A fireberry was a magical berry, described as being bright red in color, which came from the valleys of the Narnian sun.

Each morning, as King Caspian observed on his voyage to the end of the world, white sunbirds came out of the sun to eat all the food that lay upon Aslan's Table. One of the white birds brought a fireberry for the star Ramandu to eat, which he said that each fireberry took away a little of his age. This would continue until the star was as young as an infant, at which point he would resume his dance in the sky."

We hope our work and its fruit are restorative on a daily basis...leading the people that we serve toward resuming their dance in the sky.

For those of you who don't know yet, Steve resigned from Lamppost Farm on 12/31/2025 to dive full-time into a company that he started with a couple of friends called, Fireberry, with a mission to nourish, heal, and connect through planting and powering farms. Taking over the reins of Lamppost Farm is Amanda Glass, who has been directing the Fields' Corners Program for the past year. We will send further updates about the Lamppost transition, Fireberry, Jubilee, and more as the Reaching and Teaching of Lamppost Farm is expanding "further up and further in."

Bruce is ready for the bigs!! It’s showtime!!

Meet Bruce, the ten year old sire at Tierra Verde Farms. He, along with 12 of his herd are headed to the Red Devon National Show in Dunbar, PA this weekend. We choose Devon cattle because they produce incredible beef on grass only and are docile and low stress in the process. Updates on the weekend will follow 🤞🏆🐂

The Lamppost farm dog, Stormy is on point at the new farm, Tierra Verde Farms. We have introduced him to the sheep but he would still rather guard the laying hens.

These hardworking dogs are fiercely loyal and incredibly necessary. They keep our livestock safe from predators 365/24/7. It’s a pleasure watching them work.

Turkey ordering is open here. Same great birds...different label. Turkeys ordered for the Columbiana area can be picked up at the The Dutch Cupboard on Saturday, November 22.

A Time For A Change (Part 7 of 7):

We are making the decision to stop farming as Lamppost Farm as of December 31, 2025. Below is one of the changes we are really excited about and have been working on for quite some time.

What about Lamppost Farm workshops and events? Farms in the Fireberry Network will offer some of the workshops and events that you have grown to love at Lamppost Farm. Events like our Fall Festival or Rent-a Chick and workshops like chicken processing or broth-making are on the back burner until we are up to speed and moving well again. But, we see these as crucial events for the life of a farm that is engaged in its community. Events will return in one form or another as the dust settles on these changes. Once again, the goal of Fireberry is to bring life and renewal to the communities that we are planted in. We will do that through access to incredible food and community engagement. Stay tuned.
