You don’t have to buy commercially produced deodorant. Curious about it? Perhaps you are worried about aluminum or the chemicals used in them, but are also concerned about stinking using “natural methods”. Want to try it for yourself? Here is my recipe (although there are a million variations). Recipe: 5% alcohol - it kills bacteria that cause smells, 10% witch hazel - it is an astringent, soothes skin, and neutralizes odor-causing microbes, 20 drops of geranium oil - it is antimicrobial and smells nice as well as mixes well with lavender or rose oils. The rest of the spray container can be filled with water = voilà, you have an aluminum free, relatively inexpensive, natural alternative to mass produce deodorant - THAT ACTUALLY WORKS🌱. **It is not antiperspirant so it does not stop wetness.

Violets - a little superhero. Violet syrup can quell a cough and is easy to make. Violet flowers can brighten up a salad. Violet oils are calming and can soothe skin irritation. Violet are an ingredient in a lot of perfumes. They grow where other plants don’t want to. This humble little botanical also attract beneficial pollinators, so leave some unpicked when you’re foraging. 🌱
