Yellow and green beans are in good supply this week. Blueberries are also plentiful. They can be purchased picked or you can pick your own. Pick-your-own beans are $2.25/lb, and pick-your-own blueberries are $3.50/pint.

The peas are finally getting ready just in time for their big weekend the 4th of July. After we fill some preorders we should have an abundance starting Wednesday July 1. You can preorder if you like so that your peas are ready when you get here. You can also pick your own for $2.75/lb.

The stand will open for the season June 22, with strawberries, beet greens, lettuce, and broccoli. Peas and cukes will be available on a limited basis. New Senior Farmshare customers should stop by and pick up their receipt books and get details on how the program works.

The Poland Busy Bees have purchased 10 - $50 farmshares. These shares will be given to persons of any age and can be used to purchase anything that we sell. To qualify you must prove that you qualify for some government assistance program. Please call 998-2301 to reserve your farmshare.

More problems for Maine Senior Farmshare. The USDA has recommended that participant signup be suspended until June 1, 2026 to allow Maine Dept of Ag to develop a better signup process that will include signup by phone. Keep checking the Maine Senior Farmshare website for updates.

As with all federal programs recently there are many changes. The Senior Farmshare program is no exception. This year all Seniors will signup on the state website and not with the individual farmers. Details will be coming out in a few weeks and signup should start by April 1. So be watching social media and the newspaper for details as signup will be on a first served basis.
