Due to the vast number of cheap imported fruits and the government driving labor costs to the extreme, Futch Family Farms could no longer sustain its business and has permanently closed.
It was a sad day after 15 years of farming. I have sold the property and moved.
I now will re-invent myself (again) and start a new adventure. Thank you all that supported me in the past.

Hello. Update for today (04/11/20).
Futch Family Farms will be undergoing a complete do over starting this year after the u-pick season is complete.
After 2017 hurricane Irma our farm has suffered quite a bit of plant loss and in order to stay in the blueberry business we will have to replant.
We wanted to let pickers get the last bit of fruit that was left on still thriving bushes, but by this time picking is getting on the slim part, but if you hunt, you can still find enough for a bucket or two.
Thanks for being loyal customers. My hope is that we will be able to offer a great blueberry experience for 2021.

Lot of pickers today before the rain.
I think berries will hold out through next week but if your coming from far away please call first. I can give you a better idea of how many there are left. Thanks to all who have come out already. Hope you enjoy the fresh fruit.

As of Saturday 4/27/19 the berry picking is thinning out. U-pickers have been coming in and leaving with buckets full.
So my update is..... not as easy to find berries as last week, but you'll find areas that have berries worth picking, here and there.
I've placed red streamers on some of the white sprinkler post to help folks find better berry picking. So look for those.
The best part of all, the berries that have been hiding from everyone, the sweetest and best tasting of the whole season. They've had all the time they require to mature on the bush, which makes them the best.
So don't hesitate if you're wanting blueberries. They want last much longer.

Here's the latest update on Futch Farms.
U-Pick blueberries is ramping up. I have a lot of berries (in certain areas) that need to be picked. The first six rows near the road are just right for picking. Also I have tied some red streamers on some of the sprinkler post to indicate where berries are best found.
The gate will be open Monday- Saturday at 9 am and Sunday after 1 o'clock and closes at dark.
Bring your plastic bags to carry them home in.

Letting U-pickers come in and pick between commercial picking. Commercial pick crew comes in about every fourth day and wipes the field clear of ripe berries. It takes about two days before picking is good again so if you call me before you plan to come I can let you know how the picking will be.
There's a lot of green berries still to ripen up, so berries should be around for a while longer.

2019 U-pick season is upon us.

Was mowing today and this guy was headed for the chicken pen. Biggest Rat snake I think I've ever encountered. I relocated him (or her) off the farm. (No harm was done to it).
