Our Story

We are a family owned and operated farm located in the piedmont region of NC. We raise free-range poultry and lamb. We want to provide healthy food from our family farm to your family table.

Gary grew up on a farm in rural Anson County, NC. He is a true country boy. Kelly, on the other hand, grew up right outside Charlotte, NC in Gaston County. She never thought of herself as a “city” girl because they didn’t live in the city and had a garden each year. She soon realized after she married Gary that she was a “city girl”. Over the years, she settled right in to the country life. The story of our farm begins back in 2001; right after our third child was born. Gary had been tired, short of breath, and losing weight. After a series of test and biopsies, he was diagnosed with sarccoidosis. This is an autoimmune disease in which swelling (inflammation) occurs in the lymph nodes, lungs, liver, eyes, skin, or other tissues. In researching this disease to determine how we were going to regain his health, we started looking at our diet and all natural meds (herbs, vitamins and minerals). Once we really looked at how food is now being farmed, processed and stored, we knew we needed to make changes in how we lived. In 2011, Bountiful Harvest Farm began raising heritage breed chickens and turkeys. The goal is to bring the flavor and taste of chicken like our grandparents knew back to the family table. The added bonus is now much healthier the meat of the chicken is for you and your family.
