It’s rodeo weekend here in Riggins and it always brings up all the feels!
Dereks dad was a huge part of the rodeo for years and it was basically a holiday weekend for the family.
Rodeo looks a little different now… it’s definitely a lot quieter, the house isn’t as full and the adult beverage consumption is less however…
The Cross O flag is still flying at the Riggins Rodeo! The steer riding is still sponsored in Dave’s memory and there are Wilson cowgirls getting horses washed and ready to be in the parade.

The ladies are on their way!!!
Last week all the mommas got to start their journey to the high country. Heading for green mountain grass and fresh running streams!
These gals will head up about 6,000 feet in elevation all while enjoying cattle paradise.
It’s always an exciting day to watch them start their journey and also a little nerve wracking hoping everyone and their calves make it back in.
So say a little prayer for the mommas and babies, for protection and safety on their journey. Pray for the perfect amount of rain to grow the grass and prevent/protect the cattle and area from wildfires. Lastly, pray for all those watching over cattle in this rugged country, horses and dogs, cowboys and cowgirls!
