The Flathead Cherry Festival is happening this weekend, July 27-28th, in Downtown Polson. A jam packed weekend filled with talented artisans, tasty food, music, competitions and cherries, cherries, cherries!🍒 We’d like to introduce you to some of folks that will be making the Cherry Festival amazing.

GATEWAY ORCHARD
The orchard was established in the 1940s. Its current owners, the Kaye family, purchased it in 1978. Gateway Orchard grew little by little each year to what we have today. Over 600 cherry trees and various other trees, including apple, peach, apricot, plum, and pear trees. The central part of our stand was built in 1976. We started selling jam and canned cherries in addition to our produce. Each year, we have more items made from our local fruit. In 2010, the addition was made to accommodate the growing business. The shop was built the following year to house all Native American items.

Been a real winter this year. Finally seeing some clear days will be able to start taking pre orders for Huckleberry and cherry pies call 406-883-5159. Due to lack of help opening later in the day around 2 to 3 PM. This week we have a few cherries, Dixon melons, Corn, some peaches. Hope to have more peaches by Friday 16th. Everything is late this year. Still doing Huckleberry Pies on order for fresh. Have a few frozen. Also have Cherry Chocolate Mini pies frozen. Lots of Local Buffalo Jerky, Jams, Jelly, Syrup and Taffy. Unique authentic Navajo Silver Turquoise jewelry and local beadwork. Gift shop open on request make appointment. Call 406-883-5159

Cherry harvest will begin at Gateway Orchard July 29. However we are open selling Huckleberry and cherry products.Pies of course Barbara’s Cherry Chocolate, Peach, Rainier Cherry, Lambert Cherry all new this year. Huckleberry until my supply of Huck berries run out. Huckleberry suppliers say will be late maybe second week of August but the price will be higher this year due to gas prices and other factors. We have JERKY local bison jerky 5 flavors.
