A quick Video on how to take a blood sample using a Lancet! This is by far my preferred method! If you are concerned about snipping a toenail having a chick bleed too much or any of the usual worries this is a great way to acquire a sample with a tiny little prick that stops bleeding very quickly!

This is Mini ! Today, I am taking a blood sample to verify both with chickView and ZeeWee from miniPCR. Mini’s egg was tested at around 14 days developed. Using chickView and a small Inovo sample of allantoic fluid. It was determined that Mini was female before she was even hatched! 

Lancets are easily ordered on Amazon or picked up at your local pharmacy. They are kept with insulin testing supplies for people!

Little Lady #100 “Mini” to hatch after Inovo testing!

So this is Mini… Though she isn’t anything overly “special” as far as breeding. She is a run-of-the-mill BYM. BUTTT SHE IS the 100th chick that I have hatched who was DNA tested Inovo. 🎉

Before she hatched, within the egg as an embryo!
I was able to acquire a sample of allantoic fluid, and for her specifically this sample was processed with MiniPCR’s ChickView!🧬
