Baby number 2 came this morning around 9:45 Another bull, this one is Jimmy's and he's a Fu Man Chu calf. A little leggy for our liking but he came easy and he's alive so we are still winning in the game lol 😆

Ugh man it's been too long since I've posted. Where or where is the slow down button?
We are off and running into calving season 2023. This happened lastnight.
1st one out the gate lastnight around 10:30. This one is Glendas cow. She's a shorthorn cross and was AI'd to Jungels Shorthorn Farm JSF Reincarnation. Super happy with this bull. First time using this semen and calf came easy, born quickly and up and running around within minutes of finding its legs.

Well number one came out of the shoot this morning about 5, a week early. Mom is not taking too kindly to him but we got him in the office warmed up dried off, with a little bit of frostbite on his nose.
He was an unassisted bull calf weighing in at 108 lb and sire is Fu Man Chu.

Calving season is upon us at the farm finally!! After one of our cows mangled up a camera cord in the maternity section, we are back in business with a new one!! 😎 Jim and Megan got it all set up tonight and ready to roll before the storm gets here. Where there's storms, there's babies! Roll em out girls!

Happy Holidays y'all!! I haven't posted in forever, life has been crazy busy!! The girls came home from pasture in November, all fat and happy 😊 This full blooded shorty is bred to Bar N Ripper and we can't wait to see this calf! Calves are scheduled to start dropping in the next 3 weeks for us. This year we have 14 on the books as we lost some due to old age and had 1 that ended up not being able to breed. This year we hope to add some heifers back into our program to up our numbers.

I've been slow on posting this year. We had 16 calves this year, all but 2 were bulls. 4 of them will be featured at the Five Star Cattle Sale Sept 25th! Falor and the littlest farm hand Eliza are shown here fitting one of the calves. We put in many hours leading up to the sale to make sure your calf is show ready and will lead on a halter. We wrapped up calving season 2021 a couple weeks ago. First round of preg checks is Friday. Two rounds of AI have already been done with the third and final round coming up on Father's Day. I promise to get pics of all the calfs too. I finally got around to loading the ones I have on my cell.
