This morning I did my favorite zen activity and went foraging. What's in the basket, you ask? Well, I started with wild persimmon tree leaves (makes delicious tea!), then went on to wild blackberry leaves (ouch), added early ripened blackberries as well, then I hit up the beautiful spiderwort flowers and my tea roses. Then I walked around the pond for more blackberries, snagged some mimosa tree flowers for my best selling flower jelly and ended with a few milk cap mushrooms. My dehydrator is full, my heart is happy and my body is tired but in a good way.

This week I plan to make more strawberry vinaigrette, strawberry hot sauce, mimosa flower jelly, blackberry jelly, blackberry blend tea and maybe a bit of Cajun hummus by special request. Come see my booth at the Ponchatoula Country Market on Thursday to purchase something fresh made from the homestead!

I absolutely love my fellow vendors (FRIENDS) at the Ponchatoula Country Market ! Many have pitched in to help me set up, organize and beautify my new booth location. Special thanks to my artist friends Debra Haley and Christine Norred Brignac who created these fantastic chalk paint signs for me. There is so much talent between them and a lot of love and caring for everyone who is lucky enough to meet them. Thanks again ladies!

I have added a line of old fashioned Southern favorites homemade candy! Check out my peanut pralines, Cajun peanut brittle, plain peanut brittle, and the rich and decadent Rocky Road candy. Also, Mr. Crawford of Crawford's Farm makes the most delicious traditional pecan pralines (pssttt...not microwaved!) so grab one or a few from the jar!

From box to a perfect wall mounted rustic glow! My very patient daughter-in-law Caitlin Pardue brought my two beautiful grandsons for a visit while she helped me put finishing touches on my new booth space at Ponchatoula Country Market.

Thank you so much Cait! I love you and appreciate the help! (Plus I loved seeing those little munchkins!)

I know I have been quiet on this page for some time now. Life happens and sometimes you just have to go with it. I am spending most of my time right now in the kitchen getting product ready for the upcoming Strawberry Festival weekend even though I am dreaming of being in my garden playing in the dirt. The wonderful smells of muscadine, strawberries, spices, mayhaws, and florals does make being inside more than tolerable though!

Drop by my booth at the Ponchatoula Country Market during the festival and check out both the old and the new products on offer. Say hello to my friend and helper Terry while you are there. He is manning my booth while I am out for the weekend.

Now, back to work I go!

*Fruit Jams* *Flower Jellies* *Handcrafted Teas* *Vinagrettes* *Strawberry Hot Sauce* Beeswax Candles* And a whole lot more!

As I do every morning, I went out into my garden and discovered that most of my dill has been stripped. Upon closer inspection, I found a whole gang of black swallowtail caterpillars. Silly me for not planting a ton of dill so the caterpillars can maybe share a bit with me! I know what I will be planting next! Have a weekend filled with the wonders of nature. 🦋 🐛
