MARK YOUR CALENDARS. Classes are starting back up!

After hosting multiple Vaccine & Medication classes this year, I've noticed some of my unseasoned chicken tenders are still struggling with the basics. I've added an additional Housing & Husbandry class to cover all poultry fundamentals. This new class will also touch on easily avoidable mistakes I see made over and over again.

PS: Your birds should not be dying from the heat. Say it with me now- MY BIRDS SHOULD NOT BE DYING DUE TO HEAT STRESS! If this is an issue for you, come join us on 9/26.

Needing a new home!!!

This Pearl Onyx suffered a foot injury last week. It was one of those random freak accidents that happen sometimes on a farm. A lone feed bag string somehow got into their pen, wrapped around her leg, and got caught on the roosting bar. This happened after I closed up the barn for the night and I found her early the next morning, hanging from the roost. 😩

After monitoring her over the weekend, I didn’t really expect her to pull through and planned on putting her down this week. To my surprise, she’s now putting weight on her injured foot! There’s still a good bit of bruising and swelling, but she’s a fighter. She will need further monitoring and to be separated from other birds while she continues to recover. She has also lost some weight over the past week, but I expect that to easily resolve as she improves.

I unfortunately don’t know the extent of the internal damage, but it’s always a good sign when a bird can put weight on an injured foot.

*There’s no rehoming fee since there’s a chance some internal tissue damage could arise. However, I won’t let her go to just anyone!

Hey there fellow chicken lovers👋

As we gear up for fall, which is our second busiest season of the year, I just want to remind everyone about our order and pickup policies. All the information is listed in every sale post, but it seems not everyone scrolls down to read the entirety of the posts. The following information has now been added to the automated message when a private message is sent: 1) Started pullet availability and Chick Day schedule can be found pinned to the top of our page. 2) Non-refundable deposits are required to reserve birds. 3) Failure to pick up order on agreed upon date will incur an additional holding fee of $1 per bird per day.

There's unfortunately been an uptick in failure to pick up on the agreed upon date. Normally my customers communicate ahead of time and it's easily taken care of, but lately there's been little to no communication. PLEASE keep in contact if there's an issue on your end. We're not a boarding facility and won't indefinitely hold orders.

Our farm operation runs like a well-oiled machine. Orders that aren't picked up in a timely manner throw a wrench into our workflow. Not only does it cause extra work, but it also backlogs the ability to clear out and refill pens.

Help us have a smooth fall season by being on time! THANK YOU🫶

The OE’s are about 2 weeks older than the rest of the September girls (New Hampshire Reds, Austra Whites, and Black Sexlinks), but size/age won't be an issue.

We have black and blues available; color preference can be chosen at pickup.
