PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances) are a group of thousands of synthetic, man-made chemicals. They are most commonly known as "forever chemicals" because they do not break down naturally and can persist in the environment and the human body for decades.
How to remove them: Standard water filters (like basic pitchers) may not be effective. The CDC and EPA recommend advanced technologies like activated carbon, ion exchange, or reverse osmosis for effective removal.
