4R Farm

Hello, snow.

Yesterday, we said farewell to fall. This morning, Montana greeted us with snow.

Branches bowed beneath its weight, the pastures settled into stillness, two moose wandered into the morning quiet.

There’s something beautiful about the way the seasons change here. One day, the last colors of autumn. The next, a landscape transformed.

A reminder that nature moves to its own rhythm, and there is beauty in meeting each season as it comes.

Farewell to fall.

In Montana, autumn is fleeting. Some years, it feels more like a moment than a season — a stretch of golden light, one last harvest, and a few warm afternoons before winter arrives all at once.

With snow in the forecast tonight, the final herbs are gathered, the garlic is prepped for planting, and we’re turning our gaze toward the quieter, cozier rhythm of winter ahead.

One season closing. Another waiting just beyond it.

Which one belongs in your kitchen?

Three new choices from BAR R | Harvest Salts

We began with the herbs we grow, use, and return to throughout the season and then came the gourmet garlic, cultivated on our farm at 5,030’ dried and carefully blended for a balanced finish.

Three blends made for very different places at the table.

GOLDEN — Floral Herb + Sage
Light, aromatic, and made for vegetables, poultry, fish + finishing.

SAGEBRUSH — Herbed Garlic + Sage
Savory and versatile for everyday cooking.

RUSTIC — Garlic + Woodland Herb
Bold enough for roasts, beef, venison + the hunting table.

All three are part of BAR R | Provisions, available for local pickup at 4R Farm.

Come try them: Hunter’s Feed at Willie’s Distillery on October 23.

Sometimes telling the story heals.

One of the most meaningful things about the work of Our Cancer Stories is that they give people space to place their experiences into words—and, in doing so, to understand and to heal.

Sharing became an important part of that process for our founder, Jennifer Renne, and that’s why we’re so grateful for Our Cancer Stories’ recent Founders Interview, in which they shared Jennifer’s health journey through three diagnoses in three years.

Telling her story helps show the connections between a deeply personal health decision, the realities of chronic post-surgical pain, the evolution of our recovery-focused GENTLE Care Collection, and the larger work that eventually became 4R Farm. It helped to place individual moments within a much broader story of care, faith, resilience, and meaningful work.

That what Our Cancer Stories makes possible. They remind us that we do not need to have every part of an experience neatly resolved before it is worthy of being shared.

We are deeply grateful to Our Cancer Stories for the care with which they received Jennifer’s story and for the space they continue to create for honest, deeply human experiences to be heard.
