A gorgeous harvest of Zinnias this afternoon🌸
Today I finally got around to cleaning and prepping the high tunnel for my early succession sowing of Tulips! Tomorrow I will start soil prep, turning over and adding in tons of beautiful compost.
Here’s to the upcoming Spring harvest!
My current view this afternoon. Beautiful bouquets of bright and gorgeous Globe Amaranth flowers 🌺

To dry these beauties, be sure to hang the bouquets upside down 🌺
Gomphrena are stealing the show this week, completely taking over the fields. So in love with these beauties that I got from Floret Flower Farm as seeds this past Winter, sending out their hundreds of bright and colorful stems throughout the growing seasons.

Well, I’d say our Zinnias for the season are off to a beautiful start. The flower fields are in full bloom, overflowing in bright and gorgeous colors 🌸
Here’s a little corner of our future Sunflower field opening this September. After only having a postage sized plot to grow on for so long, it’s a little overwhelming and exciting to have so much room to work with. Going from about 250 to over 3,000 Sunflowers seedlings is a massive leap! Ever since I began an endeavor into flower farming, I’ve had notebooks filled with new and interesting Sunflower varieties to experiment and plant with. Stay tuned, updates coming soon 🌻
Gorgeous Larkspur pouring in from the fields this morning. With the intense and horrible heat we’ve been experiencing, it’s sad to say goodbye to these beauties. So here’s till next year 🌸
Walking through the Nigella field, harvesting huge armloads of these gorgeous and brightly colored beauties 🌸
A gorgeous moment at the end of a long and productive day. There’s so much beauty and color pouring out of the garden right now it’s almost too much to handle! 🌼 This is Snapdragon Madame Butterfly Red, a unique double-petal type variety and an absolute favorite of mine this year. Johnny's Selected Seeds
The Snapdragon patch is by far one of the prettiest spots on the farm right now! 🍊
Lace Flower are in full bloom and are pouring in from the flower fields today.
I’m beyond excited to work these gorgeous and beautifully colored flowers into all the CSA Bouquets going out this week 🌾

I Reminisce on last year’s Spring season filled with beautifully colored, bright Rococo and Double Late Tulips🌹The new year is officially upon us and the Spring season is finally approaching, once again, I, couldn’t be more excited for our completely new 2020 Tulip menu! So make sure to stay tuned 🌸
Trading in the cold weather and the flower fields today, for a wreath workshop and a little warmth inside. Thank you Hygge Co. at BDC. for hosting myself, alongside with Stephanie's Secret Garden Flower Shop this morning! Here’s to another successful evergreen and wreath demo workshop 🌿
I know what you’re thinking and yes... Bob Marley was referring to Tassel Amaranth when singing Red Red Wine. Their intense and fire like red colors are beautiful beyond words. While it was rather bittersweet harvesting the last few stems of these beauts, I couldn’t be more excited to plant and sow hundreds of more of these gorgeous flowers for the upcoming Spring and Summer months🌹
There’s just something so peaceful about planting in the Fall; the days are shorter and the air is crisp and cool. I still have a lot to do before the Winter weather approaches, but at least all 650 Tulip bulbs are finally in the ground🌹

I had a lot of fun creating these beautiful table arrangements for the Dogfish Head Alehouse - Gaithersburg, MD filled with gorgeous and fresh Tassel Amaranth, China Asters, Celosia, Bells of Ireland, Zinnias, and Carnations 🌸
The weather is finally warming up and I can’t wait to get all of these beauties planted outside!
The green room is filled with over twelve flower varieties, germinating and getting a head start on Spring before moving outside🌷
Pictured in this video: Celosia, Stock, Lace Flower, and Carnations 💐
Last years flower harvests were a thing of beauty. The floral shop was filled to the top with vibrant bicolor gomphrena, warm sunlight hues of Sunflowers and Pampas Plume, and overflowing buckets of Zinnias. With Spring approaching, I’m extremely excited to begin harvesting the tons of Tulips, Anemones, Larkspur, and all other varieties growing out in the fields🌷🌿 #gypsyflowerfarm
While this may not be the most entertaining or interesting video in the world, it is still an extremely exciting time for Gypsy Flower Farm! 🌷Today marks the very beginning of the long task of seeding tons and tons of flower trays with Snapdragons, Stock, Celosia, Asters and numerous other seedlings. Growing/starting these plants under CFL and LED lights inside gives flower farmers a huge jump on the upcoming warmer weather 🌿
Gypsy Flower Farm is almost ready for its first planting season this mid April 🌸 The long task of turning over 1,550 square feet of soil is almost finished. I’m beyond ready to get my shipment of organic compost delivered, so I can finally bring all my healthy flower seedlings outside 🌺✨
Was such an honor speaking at this Press Event about my flower farm and the act of sustainable farming ✌🏻🌼
WE ARE A CERTIFIED ORGANIC FLOWER FARM, SPECIALIZING IN GROWING UNIQUE AND BEAUTIFUL CUT FLOWERS WITHOUT THE USE OF PESTICIDES OR CHEMICALS
Shortly after high school graduation, I attended college at UMD, but seemed to never stray away from floral design all together. Even after graduating from University of Maryland I always had my mom’s shop, Stephanie’s Secret Garden Flower Shop first on my mind for career options. About a year or two after I moved from a part-time to a full-time Florist, I began to feel as though something was missing......
Creating numerous boutiques and corsages/boutonnieres for various weddings, proms, and homecomings became rather like second nature to me.... ridding me of that new and exciting passion I felt in the very beginning of my floral career.
So, with flowers still in mind, I decided to broaden my horizon and actually grow and farm the flowers we were using.
I began to research all there was to know about growing and harvesting flowers, from seed starting under CFL lights to soil composition and how to create your very own organic compost. It was not until a month or two after, that I began ordering seeds online and creating a very in-depth schedule of seedling grow dates, spacing requirements and anything else needed for growing healthy and beautiful flowers.
The couple of months approaching my first growing season in April was spent more in the greenhouse than anywhere else. Flower farming became my main priority, requiring my full attention day and night.
